Galaxy S24 Microphone Issues

Just got my new S24 and the microphone quality is very hit and miss. I recorded some videos earlier and 70% of them the sound was awful, crackling and distorted. Does anyone know a fix for this?

I got the same problemen. Buy then I tried it after turning off the bixby wake up phrase what @lukastamu said. And that seems to work!!! Crazy.....

They haven't said unfortunately, I'm waiting for my replacement to arrive now. Might be worth trying @lukastamu and @Dave10 suggestion

I tried this!!! It worked! Still so annoyed by the whole ordeal, but mine sounded horrific this morning and now sounds fine after following your tip. Hopefully they release an update

Mine sounded terrible but I tried this person's tip:

if I have Bixby and Google Assistant wake up phrases both enabled, when taking video through camera app I get robot-like sound. If I disable wake up detection for either one of them, it fixes the mic. 

And it worked! Like they said, don't know if it's a long term solution, and seems dumb you can't have them both on. Hopefully they release an update

Nice well my new phone is here and I've not activated bixby at all, so far so good haha

I had them both activated, I disabled bixby wake up detection and it worked for me. I didn't noticed the mic problem until I recorded some videos on my vacantion.  I knew it was a software problem because not everytime the videos were recorded with poor sound quality. Hope they will fix the problem. Btw, how did you descovered this corelation haha?

Glad it helped! I found that fix randomly actually. I usually use Bixby because of its tight integration with phone controls, but since circle to search is only available when using Google Assistant I have been switching back and forth testing all the functions. And then I randomly noticed, that after switching something mic would stop working. So I tried this and that until I finally fount the "solution".

Hi. I just received my new S24+ last week and today noticed the mute icon in the telephone app is grey and has a line through it.  Pressing the mute icon turns the icon green but still a line through it - the microphone does not work (on calls).  The last time I had a call, using my hands free in my car, things worked fine (but I guess that is using bluetooth, not the phone's mic.) I don't have Bixby or google assistant enabled. rebooted the phone several times. help...
