I am encountering a persistent issue with GPS signal loss when using Google Maps. This problem is specific to Google Maps, as other navigation apps function correctly. I've noticed that other users are experiencing the same issue. My Google Maps app is always updated, yet the problem persists. I have reported this through the "Feedback" section within the app, but the issue remains unresolved.
I do not believe this is a hardware problem, as the GPS works briefly after restarting the device before losing the signal again. Other GPS-dependent apps work fine, but Google Maps shows delayed movement updates and displays "Location accuracy is low" when tapping the blue location dot. Additionally, when initiating a route, the signal is completely lost, and the location fails to update. However, the compass functions accurately.
For context, I am using a global model S24 (SM-S921B/DS), manufactured on March 1, 2024. I am unsure if this issue affects other variants, such as those with Qualcomm SoCs or the S24 Ultra. I suspect this is likely a software issue rather than hardware-related. If any other users have experienced this issue, I would appreciate hearing about your experiences, solutions, or workarounds.
Software Info: S921BXXS3AXGD, THL CSC, Location Always-on, App can access location in the background..

I mostly find that giving Google services including Google maps all permissions usually works best.
So do look at your app permissions for Google maps. Especially the location if it's always ON and not just when app is opened.
Sometimes if GPS is buggy the phones do give option to recalibrate by moving your phone in a 8 circle.
Also consider a simple phone restart when you have that issue for the phone to lock in again to better mobile signal or GPS.

All permissions given. Location is always on. I did the recalibrating, and it shows perfect accuracy as you see in the screenshot. Restarting phone every 5 minutes just for working routing is a messy "fix". This is certainly software issue, I don't know caused by Google or Samsung, but I think both are responsible. I did not experience any GPS issue with Maps with my 10 years old iPhone or other Android devices.

Apparently the modem on the chip is not up to scratch.
I just got the s24 plus as well exynos so will see how it fares.
Never really had any issues on my s21 ultra exynos. And my s24 ultra is a snapdragon so will see how it goes.

I did testing for about 1 hour, with other navigation apps, older versions of Maps, GPS testing apps and it is not a hardware issue. 100% software because as you see in the screenshot, accuracy is higher than 99%. Car speed, compass, location are nearly 100% accurate, and signal to noise raito (SNR) is "very good" with 37 dB. GNSS also working with "perfect" accuracy. Older Maps versions lasts longer with 20-30 minutes, but after this time loses signal. I actually want a response from Samsung itself, service center and customer support does not accept this as a problem or bug, with answer of "phone working as expected". Google never reads feedbacks, so Samsung should contact and report this problem.

This is a more of a customer to customer forum so people like me will just answer base on their on experiences.
Maybe a moderator might pitch in.
Ideally you could send it as a feedback using the feedback option here on Samsung members app.

The only answer I got is resetting phone. Probably they will say after some time "do not use Google Maps, then issue will not appear."

Here are some things you can try if you're having trouble with Google Maps navigation:
Update the app: Make sure you have the latest version of the Google Maps app.
Check your internet connection: A strong internet connection can help voice directions download faster.
Check your location services: Make sure your phone's location services are turned on. You can also check your location permissions to make sure Google Maps has permission to access your location.
Calibrate your compass: If your blue dot's beam is wide or pointing in the wrong direction, you can try calibrating your compass.
Clear your cache: Clearing your cache can help if the app is crashing due to storage issues.
Reinstall the app: Reinstalling the app can help if it's crashing due to software glitches.
Restart your device: Restarting your phone can help if the app isn't working.

I tried other apps, Yandex also, they work as expected. I did these steps too, for couple times. Only Google Maps does not work. I want to use Maps because of better integration of Android and more locations available. These apps (Yandex and Waze) do not offer best routes or not many locations available. Also does not work with Google search. Search opens Maps for routes or locations even if you disable it.
