Hi, hope all are well. Had the update last night and was told to clear cache but not able to find way manually.

Please can someone tell me step by step how to do this without the need of a laptop.

On my S10 Plus it was a simple way of pressing the side buttons together when switching on the mobile.

Thank you for any help as want my mobile to be more productive with the update.

I think because of One 6, they may have made it a requirement to connect the phone to a laptop and then go into safe mode. This is by powering off the phone and the holding the power button and volume button until the recovery mode screen comes up.

Does this mean I am unable to clear cache without a laptop?

The process is effectively the same as on the S10 - holding power button and volume up for max 8 secs / until Samsung logo appears then release both buttons, but on the recent Android builds then you need to have either USB headphones connected or a USB lead connected to PC for it to get into recovery mode.
So, steps are;
- connect USB cable / device
- power off handset normally
- hold power and volume up until Samsung logo (handset vibrates).
- release buttons and handset will enter Recovery mode.
- navigate to Wipe Cache using volume up / down key.

I mean I've seen people saying you could connect it to another phone/tablet or even a TV to basically enable the 'Wipe Cache Partition' option in recovery mode.

I've seen a regular poster on here saying they have successfully used phone to phone (USBC to USBC ) but I've never tried it myself.

Laptop or desktop is very quick, took me just a couple of minutes yesterday.

Once the user has started their laptop, plugged USBC cable in to laptop and device, followed the above to get to Recovery Mode then can disconnect from laptop. I think you only need laptop turned on, not necessarily signed in.

No, a phone will do. I updated the two S24 Ultra and cleared the cache partition using each other. There was no need for a computer.  It is the same with the S22 Ultra, A52s etc. It will work with any USB C phone.

I have done it with 2 S24 ultra and I have done it with previous phones as well. It has been always USB C to USB C.

It has been a requirement to connect to computer/another Device  to wipe the cache partition (certainly on premium devices) since Android 11.  It was suggested the change was made to stop people inadvertently booting into Recovery Mode. https://www.androidsage.com/2020/12/16/how-to-boot-into-recovery-mode-on-samsungs-one-ui-3-0-android...
