Hi, hope all are well. Had the update last night and was told to clear cache but not able to find way manually.

Please can someone tell me step by step how to do this without the need of a laptop.

On my S10 Plus it was a simple way of pressing the side buttons together when switching on the mobile.

Thank you for any help as want my mobile to be more productive with the update.

You can use your S10 to clear the cache. I used Note20U and it worked.

There are two things that I would add to your great step by step instructions.

First, If it fails from step 3 to 4 and boots normally, simply turn off the phone and start again. It is very easy/common not to get it right the first time.

Second, I think that the "Repair apps" has been removed from the Recovery menu. I always rebooted the phone that way, but I could not see it this time. I used the "Restart device" in this occasion.

@TheDenny

> Clear Cache Files from the phone's System Partition Section  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/ You may need to insert your earphones or hook upto a powered On Laptop or use a Tv's USB Port to access the Clear Partition Section. This may help with lag or stutters as this clears the phone of old/unused or broken cache files.There is also a Repair Apps option in the Menu System too.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

The way I do it is to turn the phone off. Next, press the volume up and power key at the same time. Hold until the android icon shows onscreen and then release. You will see the usual menu and press the volume down key to navigate to wipe cache option. Once highlighted click the power key to confirm. Then select reboot option and click power key. All set!!!

Ummm, Not exactly sure how you've managed to do it without a USB connection given that it's required for the Android firmware to invoke Bootloader / Recovery partition. Has been that way for several Android releases, and been a prerequisite for certain tools to force accessing/dumping of data and bypassing device security.
