Can't add Samsung account to Secure Folder

I can't add Samsung account to Secure Folder. I get a toast message: "Something went wrong while trying to sign you into your account."

I tried signing in by email and by scanning QR code. I tried uninstalling Secure Folder and setting it up again. Nothing worked.

Any ideas?

Samsung Care Support found a workaround. Uninstall updates on Samsung account app and then it works. It's not just for Secure Folder, but also for phone.
I initially logged in to phone on previous version of Samsung account.

How to do it:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Scroll to Apps and click it
  3. Click on Search-filter icon in the top right corner
  4. Search for Samsung account and click on it
  5. Click on 3-dots in top right corner
  6. Click on Uninstall updates
  7. Click on OK to confirm
  8. You may now login to Samsung account

I made a backup of Secure Folder on my old phone to the cloud. On new phone (S24 Ultra), I downloaded Secure Folder backup from Smart Switch. When I open Secure Folder it asked me to Restore and I confirmed. Now it asks me for a password. Which password is it? I tried Samsung account password, but it says it's incorrect.

I believe when you create a password for Secure Folder, you're asked to create a password for that folder.

I always use the same password for the Secure Folder as I do for my phone, so that's not an issue.

I just now gave the incorrect PIN  and received a pop up - Reset PIN?  To reset your Secure Folder lock, sign in to your Samsung account.   I hope that works for you.

I have a PIN and a biometrics to enter the Secure Folder. I don't remember setting any password.

Any way I can find it? Or change it? I still have access to Secure Folder on old phone.

When I wrote password,  I meant that in the general sense, a PIN.

You should see a prompt if you enter in a PIN or password that is incorrect asking you to sign into your Samsung account.  Do you see that prompt after you incorrectly enter an incorrect password or PIN?

Do you have a Samsung account?  Have you created a Samsung account?

I cannot see my orders.

I guess the servers might be a bit overloaded. You could use a different browser, device or use a private tab to see if any of that makes a difference.

You could also wait for a while and try again.

I see it only when I fail few times when entering Secure Folder, but not for restoring backup. Also, password for restoring backup is at least 8 characters . On old phone I had 4 (now the minimum is 6).

It doesn't work for a week already, but ONLY for Secure Folder. I logged in on my device and I can login on web without any issues.

I'd. Usually check for any app updates in both galaxy and Google stores.

Also something simple like restarting the phone.
