Hi,

I've had the S24 Ultra for about a week now and I'm amazed by how buggy the software is.

1) Browsing the Web or viewing videos when scrolling social media regularly crashes the phone
2) Trying to record in 8K causes the camera app to crash with 'recording failed'
3) Recording at UHD produces choppy videos.

I've been sending my crash reports to Samsung but I get condescending responses telling me to free up RAM or storage. It's a new device with very little on it.

Is anyone else having a really underwhelming time with their S24?

I've recently got my S24 Ultra. It is a little buggy at the moment but I put it down to ONE UI 6.0 update then 6.1 new on the S24 so there will be some teething issues but I've not had anything too serious. The main thing I have notice are browser issues such as dead links, pages not configured properly so things like entering passwords or entering text etc opens the keyboard and covers the boxes so you can't see what your typing, when you click full screen the page disappears etc. The most significant issue I have noticed is bandwidth reduction when everything active mainly when wifi switched on when out and about. My phone is loaded with multiple social media profiles and apps multiple email accounts and apps and work and personal profile environments plus both sim slots active so if there are issues I usually come across them quickly.

Restarting the phone can help if apps are misbehaving
A soft reset is good if having repeat issues

If certain apps keep causing problems I clear the app cache and data, uninstall the app and then reinstall the app which usually solves issues specific to apps

It can be helpful if you download the samsung good guardians app and run the app booster as this optimises all of your apps.

I hope this helps

Please note clearing app cache for an individual app is different than wiping the cache partition as the cache partition only holds the cache files for system apps. Any other apps e.g from play store have their own cache within the app settings for each app

Hi @Ragepotato89

I think you read more on @GoanGeek's post that it says. It was an ordinary question trying to troubleshoot the problem.

We, all of us, are regular dudes or women who bought a Samsung product trying to help each other. We are not Samsung support.

I have also got a S24 Ultra and have not had any of your issues. The camera can have some noise and lack of details on certain conditions but I have been able to record videos on all resolutions with and without HDR.

I have used the browser (Samsung), but not a lot. So far, it has been as expected.

Please let us know if your issues are solved with the clearing cache and cache partition.

Yes I have it for a week as well, with many bugs as well. It crashed and restarted twice at random. It suddenly didn't charge with cable. I'm a Podcaster and always recorded via my Note 10+ with an external mic. My galaxy s24 ultra recognized the external mic for exactly 2 seconds and then nothing. I can't record with my mic. It even crashed once after I plugged in the mic. It force-activates at random certain "AI functions" I didn't ask for and even turned off.

It's really a shame.

Mine is basically unusable at this stage. Crashes when browsing the Web. Won't play back video. Won't record video.

I am inundating Samsung with error reports at this stage... still no useful advice from them.

And I'm sure no useful advice would come unfortunately. These huge companies have horrible customer support. I luckily bought the phone via Amazon so I've already issued a return and it was accepted. I'll still give it maybe 2 days to see if I can resolve it myself or with the help of someone, but otherwise I'll have to send it back and get a new one with the hopes it delivers the goods.

I find it been using photo editor and it keeps kicking me out while I am editing my photos and could be for a while I usually save one as I go just incase it does bug out cause I find all the samgsung phones are just utterly buggy in general so I don't know how to fix something that's on there end... I tried looking online for a fix but came across this thread nothing else I can find on the internet must be the algorithm that just doesn't show you anything you're actually searching for anymore lol...
