Samsung must work on making the batteries of the S24 series better through software updates. My S24+ which is just about a month old gets whipped by the 15 pro which is about 4months old and this is not peculiar to me because in almost all battery drain tests I have seen conducted, the S24, S24+ and ultra always lose out to the iphone even though samsung phones have higher mAh. The S24 series are the best phones out there in terms of features imo, but what is a phone with good features when its battery is not great

Hey there

You've answered your own question at the end of your comment....

"The S24 series are the best phones out there in terms of features imo".

All these features use up battery. So that's your choice - more features than iPhone but in having these, losing a bit of battery or less features......

I have the S24 Ultra and get about 10 hours streaming, 30 minutes calls and an hour of SOT above the streaming and still have 20% left.

Pretty good in my view.

Saying the S24 series battery life isn't great is like saying a formula one car is slow compared to a jumbo jet. It's a foolish comparison because if you actually look for real world usage of iphones vs the S24 Ultra for example, the S24 hands down out lasts the iPhone 15 Pro Max by a fair few hours. Seen at least 5 real life use cases which confirm as much.

I appreciate that the battery must be able to allow us to use our phone's for as long as possible @Sabclips  🔋

Battery Stats is a subjective topic as we all set up our phone's differently and use them differently and use different apps etc.  Other manufacturers of phone's may use their battery different in many aspects.

Have a look in your Device Care Section under Battery to see what's using your battery.

Troubleshooting steps such as > Clear Cache Files from the phone's System Partition Section  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/ You may need to insert your earphones or hook upto a powered On Laptop or use a Tv's USB Port to access the Clear Partition Section. This may help with lag or stutters as this clears the phone of old/unused or broken cache files. There is also a Repair Apps option in the Menu System too may help.

If I can be of any further help then please don't hesitate to ask.  😎

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

This has been helpful. I have cleared my cache partition, and I must confess that the standby/idle time has remarkably improved, but strangely, my average SoT has worsened

I am a dyed in wool Samsung fan boy. I appreciate your anecdotal examples of "5 real world usage," but I don't believe the comparison is a foolish one. Unless you are running the same apps for the same number of hours, et al, you can't use that to say one battery life is better than the other or more precisely the SoT (which is what battery drain tests are for), real world usage is very subjective, how is this for "real world use", my S8+ (6year old phone) currently has a better SoT compared to my S24+

I have seen many tests where s24ultra has beaten the pro max
And even if it loses it lost by couple of mins

One of the most comprehensive videos to demonstrate this.

I found the S8+ has some of the worst battery life of any of my Samsung phones.

Yeah, and I mean it, it has the best features. However, I judge every phone I have owned on 7 main parameters; 1. battery life 2. pricing 3. software and number of years promised for OS updates 4. Camera 5. Design/built 6. Performance and 7. Display.
Because I tend to use phones for more than 2 years before upgrading, the first 3 parameters score higher on my scale, i.e., 20 points each compared to 10 for each of the bottom 4. You may score them differently, but these are the ones that matter most to me. So I don't believe it's an either/or, I prefer a both/and. Great battery with great features is achievable, especially for Samsung
