Hello,

Since January, my music cuts out when driving around town. It happens with Pandora and Spotify across 3 different cars when I'm plugged in and via bluetooth.  What I have tried to fix this:

- Yesterday, at Verizon, software update and reset.

-Disable "Switch to mobile data" or "Smart network switch."

- Settings → Apps → Pandora/Spotify; Tap Battery → Choose "Unrestricted"

- Cleared Pandora cache and data; uninstalled and reinstalled Pandora

- Settings → Connections → Mobile Networks → Network Mode → Choose LTE/4G only

-Turn off Adaptive Battery and Put unused apps to sleep

- Add Spotify and Pandora to the "Never sleeping apps" list

- Settings → Apps → Pandora/Spotify → Mobile Data → Enable "Allow background data usage"

- Settings → Device Care → Battery → Background usage limits → Remove Pandora from “Sleeping apps”

-Disable "Adaptive battery"

Can you help fix my problem?

Hi,
Spotify cutting out while driving on a Samsung device can be caused by several factors, including battery optimization settings, software issues, or problems with the Bluetooth connection to the car's audio system. To fix this, try adjusting your device's battery optimization settings for Spotify, ensuring the app has necessary permissions, and checking for software updates.

Here's a more detailed breakdown of potential solutions:

1. Check Battery Optimization Settings:

Samsung devices: Navigate to Settings > Apps > Spotify > Battery and ensure it's set to "Unrestricted" or "Not optimized" to prevent the app from being put to sleep in the background.

General Android: Go to Settings > Apps > [Spotify] > Battery and choose "Unrestricted".

2. Ensure Spotify Permissions:

Android Auto: If using Android Auto, verify that Spotify has the necessary permissions, such as Device Broadcast Status and Nearby Devices.

3. Update Spotify and Device Software:

Make sure both the Spotify app and your phone's operating system are up to date.

4. Restart the App and Device:

Try restarting the Spotify app or your phone to resolve any temporary glitches.

If the issue persists, restarting your car's system (if applicable) can also help.

5. Reinstall Spotify:

Uninstall and reinstall the Spotify app to ensure you have the latest version and that any corrupted data is cleared.

6. Check Bluetooth Connection:

If using Bluetooth, ensure your phone is properly connected to the car's audio system.

Try forgetting and re-pairing the Bluetooth connection.

7. Consider Car Mode:

If using car mode in Spotify, verify that it's configured correctly or try disabling it if it's causing issues.

8. Contact Spotify Support:

If none of the above solutions work, it's recommended to contact Spotify Support for further assistance.

Hello,

I primarily use Pandora but tried out Spotify for testing purposes.

This happens across 3 cars that I have access to.

This happens when I plug in directly and via Bluetooth.

It doesn't look like you read my comment and just gave me what ChatGBT based on my question. As you can tell, I already asked Chat. Are you an official service tech for Samsung?

People on the forums do not work for samsung- being customer based. There are admins who are here to guide and moniter too (they'll have purple on their name)

Hi! Welcome to the Samsung Members community!

Noticed you put Verizon—are you in the States? This is the UK/EU forums; I'd suggest posting in the US forums for the most relevant support.

You have done everything I could also imagine you doing.

So, I have experienced something similar twice, and the only way I got it to reconnect was a soft reboot, holding volume down and power until the phone restarts. Though this was just my Bluetooth in general failing, acting as if it's connected but giving no audio.

I'm unsure if it's Spotify or Android. But be sure to submit feedback to the Samsung Members app—support—feedback and also provide feedback to Spotify.
