Bad zoom quality

I'm not a stalker. I've just captured this pictures of a man and leaves and screenshoted this one of an older man from Ice Universe to show how the image quality above 10x gets worse and AI generated. Please fix this Samsung. Everything looks worse.

Ha ha . The MP modes . As far as I know the 50MP and 200MP are not as optimised as the 12 MP binned one

Thanks for your customary well thought through comments. I agree with you about scepticism until we see the update and what it does.

Camera hardware..... looking at the headlines, dropping from 10x to 5x zoom lens (S23 Ultra) may not have been the finest move. Looking at what competitors use such as Leica and others, the gap feels to be growing with Samsung seemingly being left behind.

Thanks for that @Piper123 . Your comment gives good context. I cannot say that I disagree with you on the 10X optical zoom vs the 5X optical zoom. I know the S24 Ultra has a bump on the sensor’s megapixels, but it is not clear yet, if it compensates on the 10X zoom level.

Saying that, if they do finally release an update that fixes the 1X, 3X and 5X on 12MP, 50MP and 200MP, the lack of 10X optical zoom might be less significant.

A few phones have managed to outdo the Samsung’s offer on the camera department. It does not help that the camera app is not as optimised as it should be for a premium phone. Samsung has used the camera capabilities as one of the main selling points, so it should perform very good at the very least on release and excellent within a few updates.
