S24 Ultra - Camera Pictures & Videos being poorly shot and post-processed.

Hi Everyone!

I got my new S24 Ultra yesterday.
The phone performance is great, I set everything up and it works perfectly, except camera's..
Before this phone I used Samsung Galaxy Note10 and I really enjoyed it's camera, so I had high expectations for my new phone.

I tried shooting several photos and videos but I was very disappointed. 200MP and 50MP cameras have very bad post-processing, from good photo colors get very bad and quality gets ruined, and 12MP isn't very good either. I tried comparing my cameras to the Note20 Ultra's (which is my friends phone) and Note20 had clearly won.

I tried searching on YouTube, reddit and different forums to find the solution to this problem. Some say this is a hardware issue while others say this is a software issue. I heard somewhere this bug will be fixed in one of Samsung's new software updates (such as new system - One UI 7) so I wanted to ask anyone if they can clear this situation out for me, I would be very grateful!

Delighted to hear you've got yourself an S24 Ultra. 🫠

In pretty much all scenarios it is a beast of a device.......

But - the cameras and the processing are marmite across this and other forums and across the web.

My own view is the 12 and 50mp cameras are good as long as you don't want to zoom. After zooming more than 2x quality drops. 200mp is a headline act that fails to deliver in my view.

I am currently in One UI7 beta and things haven't changed much so far (I'm on beta 2).

Would recommend you get yourself 2 apps to support the camera:

Camera Assist
Galaxy Enhance X

Both available on Samsung Galaxy Store and with a bit of playing with settings there are some improvements to be had.

Overall though, I remain underwhelmed overall.

Hello! Thank you so much for answering my post 😊.
I installed both apps. I find Galaxy Enhance X really useful and I really appreciate your recommendation.
It's a shame S24 Ultra camera's have a little bit of issues, but these apps will help a lot.
I hope maybe in future they will unlock the full potential of 200MP camera (If possible in final One UI 7 release) and also upgrade the other camera's.

Samsung have been working on cameras for the upcoming S25 Series apparently (based on speculation on the web, not from Samsung directly) and if this is the case and if there are software improvements, maybe just maybe they will roll these or to S24 and S23 Series respectively.

Speculation continues that there won't be much change in the camera hardware on the S25 series (again speculative based on the web). If so then it may not be the major upgrade we hope for but we will have to wait until 22nd January to find out.

For someone who repeatedly posted beta wouldn't be out until January 2025 🤣 🤣 🤣

Rumour has it first week in January but then again I've also read (all be it only once) about tomorrow.

I suspect first week in January more likely but that is purely speculative
