Having recently had to do a factory reset on my S24+ with no backup available, I am now (a bit late in the day ) somewhat paranoid about ensuring I make regular backups. As there are two options available, Samsung Cloud, and Google Drive, . is anyone prepared to offer advice as to which is best (and simplest) to use?

@Anonymous User: I definitely recommend using both the Samsung Cloud and Google backup options that are available in Settings > Accounts and backup. Samsung Cloud, for instance, does not backup photos and videos, while Google Drive does, so you should utilise both options to ensure that your personal data is secure.

I use Samsung Cloud and Google Photos.
You can also do temporary back ups to Samsung Cloud that'll stay online for 30 days which covers everything via Settings > General Management > Reset > Temporary Cloud Back up. Always a handful feature to have should you need to do a quick backup in one go ready for a factory reset.

I use Samsung cloud to back up my phone.
However as the Samsung Cloud does not back up my gallery anymore I choose to use Dropbox.
I'm not keen on Onedrive @Anonymous User

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

You must have Google Photos app for backup photos because Google Drive not backup it since 2018.year. Google Photos for free backup 15 GB,if you want more, you must pay
If you play games, Google Play Game app will save progress of all games you play

In addition to cloud based backups, I have an external SD card in a card reader and periodically back up my phone to that. The cards cost next to nothing and the card reader cost €12 or so.
(This card is 128GB and is smaller in size than my thumb nail.)
(I also have Samsung and Google backups.)
