Been using my S22U for wireless android auto for about a year with only the occasional software crash which is fine.
Set up the S24U today and I can't get through a full song without audio lagging and stuttering.
Anything I can try to sort this issue? Anyone had similar?

Yeah, totally the same, playing spotify and using waze the track will randomly pause and start again, sometimes it totally disconnects and waves restarts

S22 and s23 were never an issue

Check which version, possibly a device bug with AA.

No update that I'm aware of though. Is yours a beta?1706280662865_1706280662860_0.jpg

No, but I'm on a ZFOLD4, and no issues.
Worth trying a cable to rule out AA Wireless.

Sorry mine is a beta, but the latest full release is Android Auto 11.0.6350.

Suppose if you still have your old S2xx check to rule it out.
Or if your not on the release wait for the update.

I've trade it in unfortunately, will just have to wait for a update to fix it hopefully. The issue I have plugging it in is the head unit charges about as fast as the phone drains so it's kinda useless. Wirelessly I can use a fast charger instead

I waited years for AA Wireless, then realised how much drain and strain it put on the phone, swiftly went back to Wired, which also has its moments.

I might have an answer. I'm running Android Auto from an aftermarket head unit and it was patchy on my S22U. I upgraded to the S24U and I have similar problems although it's a little different.

Wireless AA uses Bluetooth to initially connect and that creates a WiFi hotspot on the phone as Bluetooth doesn't have sufficient bandwidth. I'll come back to this point.

First problem is 'intelligent WiFi' which effectively means that when my 5G phone has a stronger/better signal it disconnects from the WiFi and switches to mobile. This was why disconnections happen in set locations.

Next up is WiFi hotspot 2.0 as a similar thing happens.

Finally, I seem to have most things better, BUT occasionally it cr*ps out and starts stuttering.

When it does this, I've found that turning off Bluetooth instantly makes the stuttering stop. On my aftermarket head unit BT and WiFi use the same aerial. Something odd happens and they seem to clash. Every time I turn off Bluetooth it instantly fixes it.

With the WiFi connection in place it seems AA wireless runs absolutely fine without Bluetooth (so far with a 30 min drive home).

I've set up a routine on my phone to detect when Android Auto is on, wait 20 seconds (a guess) and then turn off Bluetooth. If AA disconnects then BT will re-enable. I'll be testing over the next few days but it makes sense so far.

Really interesting. Sounds like an odd fault, let us know how it goes!
