WiFi 6E not working properly on S23+

I have a Samsung S23+ and when connecting to a WiFi 6E network (so on 6GHz spectrum) - the phone will successfully connect to the WiFi 6E network and get an IP address but Internet is not accessible. When I disable the 6GHz band and have only 2.4GHz and 5GHz running on the router then all is fine (Internet is accessible). Router is an ASUS ET8 updated with latest firmware and the Samsung S23+ is updated to latest One UI version 6.1 and Android version 14 (security patch level of August 1, 2024). Other devices (non-Samsung) connect without any issue (Internet is accessible).

Hello @naitkris and Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum. 😀

If you perform a forum search you should find existing threads with some further help within.

One such similar thread is > https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/galaxy-s23-series/wifi-problem-after-updated-to-ui-6-1-on-s23-pl...

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

Thanks @BandOfBrothers however there is no solution in that thread and the last post related specifically to WiFi 6E was in June - since then there has been 2 updates that I have applied to my S23+ and neither has solved the issue.

I will in any case post there also - really surprised so many others are facing this WiFi 6E issue with Samsung Galaxy S devices for a long time now and it is still not fixed.

Having the same issue. Working wifi 6E network for other devices (and previously for my and my other half's s23 devices) no longer connectable by our s23/s23u.

if i move from 6ghz to "5ghz and 6ghz" in unifi it is connectible but not wifi 6e, just wifi 6.

s23 devices both report incorrect password when connecting to the network just on 6ghz.

This used to work and no longer works.

Given this is a selling point for the devices, it really ought to work. Please explain why it does not and provide a fix :smiling-face:

to add, the relevant part of my network consists of a Ubiquiti "Access Point U7 Pro"

I've not got any mac address restrictions in place, I've restarted it, created new networks and tested permutations and it is 100% the use of 6E/6GHZ  which the phones are unable to deal with currently.

the passwords are entered perfectly as evidenced by enabling 5GHZ and watching the device auto-connect (but not on 6E)

other devices are able to utilise it (a quest 3 is currently connected and functioning through the same network)

Yes, issue seems to be with any WiFi 6E (6GHz) router as my router is an ASUS ET8 and yours is an Ubiquiti. Problem appears to be from Samsung side as other (non-Samsung) clients can connect to the 6E/6GHz WiFi network.

Hope they finally fix this issue with a future update as it is really annoying and I would prefer not to switch to another company for my future phones as I otherwise quite like Samsung.

Been through chat with the support team twice now, i've reset all settings and the issue persists.

The issue is definitely software but they won't escalate without me having an engineer review.

I've walked through every channel on my 6GHZ network and none of them work either, so not seeing the same issue as another thread i saw of users in Bangladesh.

Interestingly, when you load the wifi  settings page, the networks show as 6E networks (with the tag beside the wifi icon), but once you have attempted to connect the 6E tag disappears

I've submitted an error report including device logs through the Samsung members app and opened a few tickets. Hopefully get some traction...

Same here - hopefully they will fix it.
