Turning off start notification for sleep mode

Hello,

I've recently turned on sleep mode so that I don't keep getting notifications throughout the night. However, now I've run into a new issue I can't work out how to fix. Last night I went to sleep earlier than the start of my sleep mode routine turning on and, when 11pm hit, there was an alarm that went off (like the usual wake up alarm) signaling the start of sleep mode. This is obviously counterproductive to wanting to stay asleep once asleep so how to turn off any alarm or notification sound for the start of sleep mode?

Does this just turn off the sound notification when the phone goes into sleep mode, or does it turn off all notifications for the entire night.

Very grateful! This is definitely an oversight from Samsung. Sleep is the only routine I use and this notification sound rendered this more hurtful than useful.

The toggle under Digital Wellbeing cannot be turned off or on. Go back to Special Access and choose Apps, Modes and Routines, Notifications. Choose 'Silent'. We'll see if that works on my S10.

Hi, last night I turned on the notification from my Instagram and Facebook through the sleep mode, and today, my Instagram and Facebook are grey even that is 11:30 am. I have done everything to turn on the notifications and nothing. Could anyone help me? Why is it not working even when I switched off everything.😟

In my case it the Sleep Mode is controlled by the Digital Wellbeing app on my Galaxy Flip phone 5. But the toggle button to turn off notifications under this app does not respond, it is set to "on". So sick of being woken as I drift off to sleep by this ridiculous audible notification. It seems that the only solution that works is not to have sleep mode set at all. I will have to manually set Do Not Disturb every night (and remember to turn it on every morning!) Very disappointed with Samsung on this one.

@navig8R: I'm sorry to hear of your disappointment surrounding this matter. While I understand that this isn't ideal, please be aware that you can schedule Do not disturb in the same way as Sleep mode, so you can avoid having to manually enable/disable the feature before you go to bed, and on a morning.

To do so, please head to Settings > Notifications > Do not disturb > Add schedule > Set the days you would like the schedule to activate > Set time (start and end) > Done > Save.

So a scheduled DND won't sound a notification as it begins and ends each time?

So now after putting it to the test for two nights, I can report that a scheduled Do Not Disturb for sleeping hours does kick in silently. So, if Sleep Mode notifications are bothering you, I can recommend turning it off and following Andrew's advice above.

While that is one work-around to the issue, it doesn't resolve the inherent flaw in allowing sleep mode to produce audible notifications.

This is a completely stupid oversight on the part of the developers.  Why would we want a mode that is designed for sleep to audibly notify us for anything?

Why would it make noise to alert us that it is starting, when that will disturb sleep?

Why, when I pick up my phone during sleep mode, would it audibly  alert to ask if sleep mode should be disabled? Why would anyone want it to do that, and especially with great frequency, as it does it constantly?

It defeats the purpose of sleep mode, and makes use thereof completely pointless.
