S23 Ultra not charging via cable after recent android update

Hey, 

I recently updated my S23 Ultra which was working perfectly until the recent update. It seems whenever I open YouTube app and then play some video, after a while when my battery is low, I keep it for charging, but it doesn't charge. It has happened to me twice, last time this happened my phone was not charging and not turning on, I did some massage(youtube video hack) and it turned on and started charging.

After the recent update, it's not even charging via cable. I tried wireless charging, its working. 

How do we rollback the update? Is there a fix for this? Has anyone faced this issue?

I just got this issue today out of nowhere. My wife and I both have the same phone and models since we bought them together. Her phone is experiencing the same issue. When we both tried to now connect to my PC device we both got an error stating "Power Surge on the USB device." We have tried multiple chargers and charger boxes but cannot charge them. We managed to get her to charge out of a USB port or Bluetooth speaker we have, but even then it was inconsistent charging.

Currently I am using samsung 15 watt wireless charger. It is working perfectly. I am waiting for the next update till then can't do anything to be honest

Ya, that looks like the route for now as they get more reports about it hopefully they fix it soon.

Hey 👋

I am using the original samsung cable with a genuine charger. It was working fine before the 15th February update and then it stopped working. Later in March I think on the 12th, I received another update, and then it starts charging for 5-10 seconds and stops working. My DeX mode via cable is working perfectly, so is my wireless charging feature. I recently updated to 6.1, battery consumption has increased, but the cable charger still doesn't work.

There is no debris, or dirt in both socket and charger.

I've tried almost every kind of plug on the market. Still doesn't work.

Nope, still facing the same issue. I decided to take it to the Samsung authorised service center, they suggested to replace the whole cable charging unit, without any investigation.

Hi there, I have the same problem and a few others. IT IS NOTHING ELSE THEN STUPID LATEST UPDATE from Samsung that I also made. The last one, which is 6.1 Android 14. Until the update, I could charge in my car lighter from Amazon  and also charger and cables from my iPhone 15 and a charger from Macbook that is 20w and cable from Macbook as well. and other certified charges and cables. THEY WERE ALL WORKING ON S23 BEFORE I MADE UPDATE. this stupid recomendation to use original cable or charger is just stupid nonsense because, it is CERTIFIED which means APPROVED AFTER ALL TESTS and it will work on any ANDROID AND SAMSUNG AND NOW ON IPHONE 15 ALSO. AND MACBOOK. ALL WITH C-PORT!!!!! Now after the update even with the ORIGINAL BLACK CHARGER FROM SAMSUNG 25W AND the ORIGINAL CABLE IT CHARGES AND STOPS NOT COMPLETING CHARGING!!!!

I WORK WITH PHONES OVER 20 YEARS, AND IT IS ALWAYS SOME PROBLEMS WITH SAMSUNG UPDATES because Samsung always rolls out updates without completely checking them and testing them. What Samsung does is rush with updates and then we users get a million stupid problems and we report them and Samsung then makes updates and corrects them, MAKING US FRUSTRATED AND MOVING TO IPHONE which i already did, actually two weeks ago. I AM SICK AND TIRED OF THIS and I am just thanking the EU for forcing Apple to make an update for IOS so that in the future we will be able to download apps on iPhone from ANY MARKET STORE and not just the Apple store. After that, I promise you no one will want ANDROID ANYMORE because you will get then best of all from both worlds, all android apps on iphone and all apple fluidity and high quality on iphone and much more. I was feathfull customerr of samsung from NOTE 2 and sold so many samsung convincing people that is better then iphone. But unfortunaetly, is not enough anymore to give cash back of 100 or 150 on a new device and think that will make us more to continue using samsung. I want more. I want phone without making me frustrated, without draing battery without consant notification for downloading new stupid software that is not good anyway, I WANT TO BE ABLE TO TURN THAT OF AND CHOOSE and i could write another 30min about all small stupid thing that Samsung is not fixing and making better but doing over and over same mistake but that is just wrong politic of Samsung and in next few years, specially in Euope, mark my words they will loose big time from Apple. thank you European Union and God help you Samsung. 

so SAMSUNG PLEASE MAKE UPDATE TO CORRECT YOUR MISTAKE ASAP !!!!!!! THANK YOU

Facing the same issues on my S23 Ultra. I can hardly say when it actually began, but definetely within the last few weeks and close to an update provisioning.

It started with regular "moisture detected" alerts that must have been false positives because there was neither dust nor moisture inside the port. 

Sometimes it helps to turn off the phone off and on again after a few seconds. 

Also Android Auto (wired) suddenly has stopped working for me completely.

Cannot be a coincidence when others come up with the same problems.

Exactement le même problème depuis la mise à jour vers UI 6.1! Le téléphone ne reconnaît plus aucun branchement USB.

J'ai tout essayé... Câbles, bloc de charge (tous de chez Samsung), effacer le cache USB setting, changer les paramètres USB, nettoyer le port USB, contacter le service technique Samsung... Même le dernier correctif n'a pas résolu le problème! 

Seul solution proposée par le service technique, réinitialiser le téléphone en paramètre d'usine! J'ai 130go de données dessus et comme je ne peux pas sauvegarder sur un PC comme le port USB ne fonctionne plus et pas assez d'espace sur mon cloud, je ne peux qu'attendre que Samsung fasse qqch 👍

La dernière mise à jour n'a apportée que des problème sur mon s23 ultra... Même les vidéos sont moins stables qu'avant, et l'écran tactile devient parfois un peu fou! 

Je pense qu'il n'y a pas d'autre solution que d'attendre que Samsung améliore et corrige leur dernière version... Mais svp Samsung, faite ça rapidement! C'est inacceptable de payer un téléphone plus de 1200€ et de ne pouvoir s'en servir qu'à moitié!
