I've just lost 25% battery after updating my S23 ultra. It's losing power fast now. Plugged it into my 45watt charger and it's not charging as fast as it should even though it's saying superfast 2.0. Taking ten minutes to do a 3% top up. Wtf man, was debating whether to install the update or not. So far it's the worst update I've experienced. My phone better not be trashed after this. Fuming 😑😑😑😑😑😑😑

I've seen a few posts like this today. How odd. Maybe go to the members appβ€”supportβ€”feedback. Hopefully, Samsung will sort it ASAP.

In the meantime, maybe try:

Clearing the phone cache partition.
1. Turn off the device. Connect it to the computer.
Press and hold the Volume Up key, then press and hold the Power key.
2. When the Android logo appears, release both keys.
3. Wait until the Android system recovery menu options appear.
4. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight "wipe cache partition".
5. Press the Power key to select.
6. Press the Volume down key to highlight "yes," then press the Power key to select.

Go to Samsung Care, diagnostics.

I haven't seen any bad posts regarding this all day. That's why I went ahead with it. I was slightly worried because of others having problems the past few weeks. Surely, this can't be deliberately done, can it? Some posts are suggesting it. This is a joke. Unbelievably slow charging ***** 😑😑😑

Not in terms of charging. But reports of odd battery effectsβ€”I've seen a couple.

I highly doubt it was deliberate, mind. Personally, I just think possible mistakes have been made and affected a small number of peopleβ€”if it were everyone, the forum would be packed. It may be worth speaking to @Sam_UK.

25% gone in a matter of minutes is way too bad. Something clearly wrong in the update. What do some of us do now, complain and patiently wait for the next update? It's warming up a lot more now. That beloved 8gen2 has been superb from the first day.

25% gone in minutes. Never happened before! Never charged this slow before after any updates. Try to explain the dramatic 25% loss if you can?

Easy, misreading of the battery, glitches can happen sometimes, especially on older devices. Can even happen on new ones, experienced and seen it a fair few times myself. Also installing updates can sometimes pull nearly a full 10% battery depending on how large it is or the sheer number of apps needing update/optimising, not really unusual.

Charging has a very wide scope. It can vary for a multitude of reasons ranging from battery issues to chargers, cables, background software, a software hickup or glitch, or even the environment.

Mate, everything is the same as it always is. The same high-powered charging cable and charger that I've always used is not working as it should. Only updated my phone an hour ago, but I have never ever experienced this dramatic 25% drop in battery through an update, which took a few minutes to complete. I know you can lose a fair bit of battery during an update, but 25% is absurd. Really hope sammy hasn't trashed my phone. I love this S23 ultra so much. Can't stop playing with it. Best phone I've ever owned. Gonna leave it plugged in all night now just in case it switches off. Need it on for work. I'm not feeling confident at all.

Doubtful, give it at least a few cycles before jumping the gun.

After 15 years of Samsung androids, I've yet to experience one update that ever "trashed" my battery in any device.
