S23 Ultra - Camera does not work. It says "camera failed." Please can you help?

My new s23 ultra camera dies not work. It says "camera failed" I have re started the phone multiple times. I ha e re booted the phone multiple times to no avail. I have no idea what to do next. Please can you help? 🙏

Worst case have you tried a full reset of your phone if all else fails

Thanks I did this and the only error was sim 2, I only have one sim so I was unconcerned. Thank you.

Like I said it's a worst case sometimes it's the only way

It is not working properly, but I can take a photo if I hold thr app icon and select portrait, I am then able to take a photo. But my phone unlocks on face recognition, just the rear camera fails consistently with the app. I get "the camera has failed". Terribly confusing and frustrating. But thank you to this wonderful group of people, all trying to help me. A wonderful bunch. 😃

As your S23 Ultra is displaying a "Camera Failed" warning, it is most likely a software issue and not a physical problem with the camera. As well as everything else that you've tried so far, have you checked to see whether there is a software update available for your phone, @cazlin?:

@cazlin have the "camera fail" issue got fixed in your phone? I am currently experiencing the same with my s23 ultra after the latest update.
