I am getting the same error. Mine is related to my front camera. When I clear cache and data the camera app opens but when I try to switch to front camera I get the "camera failed" pop up. If I close the app and reopen it I get "camera failed" again and the camera will not open. Going back to clear cache and data starts that whole cycle again.
I have started in safe mode and still get "camera failed."
I tried to run diagnostics in the members app. When it gets to front facing camera the screen is black. I can click on the button and get the sound feedback that would indicate a picture has been taken. Then it freezes. I don't get the message asking me if it worked. It stays on the picture taking diagnostics screen. Only now the take picture button is inoperable.
