Has anyone else come across this at all?

I feel like this has only happened and appeared recently. (But it may have always been there?)

There's an image on this Reddit thread here (And posted below) that shows what I'm talking about - (although mine isn't this bad) - the small dot that appears just to the bottom right of the front facing camera.

It's definitely to do with the Proximity sensor. Changing to light mode and then making a call, you see four small squares that make up a square in the exact location. Seems to only be visible on darkish backgrounds. The dimmer the brightness the more obvious it is,

Not sure when it appeared but I first noticed this last night. I also did the google Play System update too last night. I doubt that the two are linked though...

Anyone else had this recently or previously?

Here's the official response I got back:

Our experts have looked into your query, and have noted that the mark you're seeing is the photoelectric effect of the proximity sensor, which operates during a call. The proximity sensor is located behind the display, and when the infrared LED is turned on, it will appear as a spot in the screen. This is considered to be a normal feature, therefore a resolution cannot be provided at this time.

Back again after a 40 minute phone call (Loudspeaker laid flat on the desk). Guess it's just one of those things that will come and go!

Hi, do you still have the spot near the proximity sensor. I also saw it today, was definitely not there before. 3 weeks old s23. Considering if should replace under warranty or will go away over time.

It comes and goes. There's no need for any warranty replacement

Notice the same small dot next to the camera on my S23 512gb. I'm sure it wasn't there before. But it's really hard to see. You have to look for it on the display against a light source. The phone seems to work fine, though. How's your phone now?
