Proximity sensor visible all the time on newly replaced screen

Yesterday, Samsung replaced my S23 screen due to a bright halo around the punch hole camera.

The new screen still has a slight halo around the camera, but I can now (very visibly) see the proximity sensors underneath the screen. It was not visible at all on my previous screen.

I can see it constantly, on all colours and it's very distracting.

The repair guy also scratched the back of my phone and the back glass wasn't stuck down properly. I could get my whole fingernail under it and I had to push it down to get it to fit into place properly myself.

He claimed he did a water resistance test after the screen replacement, but this was clearly a lie because it would have failed due to the huge gap.

Really fed up with this phone now. It's a huge hassle to contact Samsung support and rearrange yet another repair.

I get the hassle...I would be furious too...but if it's not right you have to contact them to make it right... It's not your fault, and you have paid for this device.

Me neither. I also worry about moisture possibly affecting the camera due to the botched back replacement

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

A lot of people are being told that the visible proximity sensor is normal. It isn't, because it wasn't visible on my previous screen.

Also, I'd have them on the fact they scratched the back glass and didn't stick it down properly.
