S23 one ui update 7 freezing home screen after return from an app

Often you may be in an app like maps or instragram and need to switch to WhatsApp to look at a message. 

Swiping and returning to home screen may result in a freeze for several seconds where it is impossible to launch whatsapp, or whatever app you may wish to go to. 

This seems to be often when the active app was one you may not have opened on a while. 

Very disappointing as one ui 7 brings a load of arbitrary and pointless ui changes and manages to turn the premium galaxy phone into a stuttering brick. 

Bring back one ui 6 it was fine.

Did you find a solution as my S23U does the same. I've cleared cache, updated everything, restarted phone etc but it still does it.

Are other people using the one UI home app launcher or are they using a third party? I am using Action Launcher

I'm on the standard one ui 7 launcher. No solution yet sorry.

Happens to me as well. 100% caused by the One UI 7.0 Update. When multitasking or using the phone and switching apps, it will freeze on the home screen after exiting an app (not always but enough that it is VERY annoying) and in that time, you can't interact with anything except the power button. Please fix this. S23 Ultra in Toronto on OneUI 7.0

Still having the same issue for weeks now, no comment from Samsung or WhatsApp(META)? It's annoying...

Just wanted to second this. I've done a soft reset and wiped the partition and it still freezes. For me this is mostly related to WhatsApp I think with the S24 Ultra One UI7. Samsung please fix this asap, there was nothing wrong with One UI6.

I think I found a solution! If you have set your animation scales to 0.5x, try setting it back to default (or just turn developer options off). It seems to have fixed the freezes for me.
