Ok so I love the layout of the new update and the way the battery looks etc but. Since the update i have experienced my s23 ultra suddenly freezing randomly and becoming unusable for about 5 mins. Ill just be scrolling on Instagram and it will suddenly stop. The screen will freeze , no buttons will work and then it'll suddenly shut down and restart , it's happened twice now

Hi! Welcome to the Samsung Members community!

The very first thing to do is a soft reboot. Hold the volume down and power buttons until the phone restarts.

See if it occurs again.

Go to the Samsung Members app > Support > Diagnostics—are all showing okay?

Also, if you haven't done so recently, perform a Wipe Partition Cache on your device.

You won't lose data and this is recommended to be done after every OS update and periodically after Security Patch updates (I typically do this quarterly).

I am not employed by Samsung nor do I receive any remuneration as a Samsung Members Star.

My device is an S25 Ultra.

Hi @lunagloomycore  if still issue did you clear the cache partition after the update as that is recommended after major software releases. Firstly ensure all your apps are up to date and in case particular issue with Instagram clear the cache from that app.  sometimes restarts can be caused by conflicts with third party apps and if ok in that mode would pinpoint recent third party apps which have been installed (if applicable) https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-start-my-galaxy-device-in-safe-mode/

However you may need to wipe the cache partition by following steps:

1. Turn off the device.
2. Connect To Computer , other Device or TV USB, Press and hold the Volume Up key and then press and hold the Power key
3. When the Android logo displays, release both keys.
4. Wait until the Android system recovery menu options appear.
5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
6. Press Power key to select.
7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.
