After happily giving my S24+ exynos trash back a few weeks ago, I noticed the AOD notifications were not colourful anymore and couldn't be changed to colour. Just a dull and boring white. I hated it. Anyways, purchased a lovely S23 ultra for dirt cheap and I read somewhere that when the S23 models get the one ui 6.1 upgrade, they too will have the same. Could anyone clarify if this is this true please?

Well personally I wouldn't recommend the S24+ exynos trash as I previously owned it and gave it back. It overheated quite a lot and uploading speeds, Well, forget about it. It's 3 times slower than the 8gen3 chip. Another scandalous Samsung move. Would also add that even though it has a quad HD screen, my old S105g looked better when watching content or looking at pictures. I still have it and will only use as a backup if necessary. It's still a brilliant device apart from the battery. I had an S23 regular last year which performed much better than the S24+ I gave back. That's just mental lol..

Is it or has it already had the update which brings the vivid mode back?
For my personal use, I'm sure the battery would do well for me. Especially as I'm not on Facebook and X etc, which are known battery hogs. I'm on the fence with the potential purchase to be honest.

It has been updated mate. Some are happy with it and some on the fence.
The battery also isn't as good as the 8gen3 version. Numerous videos showing this. Honestly mate I wouldn't buy it. Just knowing that there is the same phone out there with the 8gen3 chip is absurd. Wouldn't give Samsung the satisfaction of parting with my money for it! It did have decent speakers. Also lightweight.

I own an amazing S23 ultra and prefer the slightly wider and smaller design of the S24 ultra. There's your hatred right there 🧐

How can something a year old be the same price as it's newer version/upgrade? That's mental behavior right there.

I do think it's crazy why us lot get the Exynos version. It makes you feel like we are used for testing purposes. The S25+ and S25U will, hopefully, be more compelling next year 👍🏻.

Exactly mate! Doesn't feel nice at all. I'm sure they'll be brilliant like the S23 models were. I'm also holding out for the S25 model. Lot's of people are doing this who own an S23 ultra. Seems like Samsung odd number models always do well lol..

You still never answered the simple question, where are the downgraded specs?

If you actually bothered to read my statement I think the S23 Ultra was an excellent phone, however I found nothing the S24 Ultra wasn't superior. For me the design is better, speakers improved, screen improved, performance better, camera slightly better with more versatility and functions, 4k on all lenses, 120 fps 4k, all the AI features. What wasn't there to like?

You on the otherhand are downplaying it claiming inferior or downgraded specs and making false claims of price increases.

Trying to make your argument stronger again by pointing out what we've already talked about? Clever ain't ya.. downgraded specs for a few years now. Everyone except you knows that! S24 ultra has slight upgrades but nothing worth trading in the S23 ultra for is it. Speakers are very much the same as 99% are pointing out. I also mentioned I preferred the slightly wider and smaller design of the S24 ultra didn't I. You sure you're reading my comments correctly? If you're happy to throw your money away and think you're gaining a fantastic upgrade, that's down to you. The majority are keeping the S23 ultra!!! Anyways, we both know I love a deal and you don't.
I paid £500 for my 12g 512g S23 ultra. How much did your S23 and S24 ultras cost you? Think we have a clear winner 🏆🙋🏻‍♂️

Well I've owned both and these are my findings. No ones saying the upgrades are worth it to everyone, or anyone, except you making that judgement call. I've never said it, but my initial thoughts are still valid. The S24 Ultra is an upgrade on the S23 Ultra in every way. I don't need to "try" make my argument sound better, I'm not arguing. You are the only person who proposed false statements when you said downgraded specs and a price increase.

The issue here is you think a great value proposition is the ONLY measure of a products worth. But I have news for you, not everyone feels that way. I'm not here to judge nor make assumptions on people's buying habits, it's why I never force my own views on the subject like you're trying to do to me. I'm only providing my objective facts. The worth or value of an upgrade is subjective and individual, what suits you doesn't necessarily mean the same for someone else. The sooner you learn this, the sooner you'll realise trying to influence someone's buying choices based on your own needs is irrelevant.
