Before I posted here, I spent several evenings trying to get rid of this annoyance.
I'm in the Netherlands. I'll enter ... samsung nl ... for example, in my search window in MS Edge, click on the first hit which is a sponsored ad and I'll receive a Hmmm... cannot reach that page ad.doubleclick.net refused to connect.
Now, if I click on a Samsung site that is not sponsored, the link will open.
I have spent considerable time on this. If you have a solution, please let me know. Thanks, in advance, Dave

Enable/download an ad blocker in your Samsung browser. Check under its settings ad blockers.

I finally solved this issue.
Settings / Connections / More connection settings / Private DNS / I changed that setting to Automatic.
It was previously set to Private DNS provider host name / dns.adguard.com
I must have changed that some time ago after reading an article on this topic.
Problem solved. Sorry to waste everyone's time.

Thank you and may God bless you Dave, you saved many people's lives from being wasted on this stupid and annoying malware!
Only God knows how much time I and others wasted on this junk.
You are our hero!
