Google Play Protect Problem

As you can see in the screenshot, Play Protect hasn't scanned since 17th June on my S23 Ultra and each time I click Scan button, it shows as scanning for a couple of seconds, stops, then reverts to the same details (see screenshot)!
Can anybody help me to get this working properly again please 🙏

@jvk: From the Play Protect screen shown in your screenshot, tap the cog in the top right, and make sure that 'Scan apps with Play Protect' is toggled on. Now, press your Home button and head to Settings > Security and privacy > Updates > Google Play system update, and check for any available updates from here (Wi-Fi connection required). Let me know if this helps.

Play Protect is, indeed, toggled on. Play system update shows as 1 September 2023 but, despite several attempts, doesn't find any update. My S21 Ultra however, has Play system update at 1 October 2023?
