So on Camera assistant I didn't even know you can set the speed of capturing a photo.

See attached photo which would be better for battery usage

Ive been using the settings for a while now
But settled on the quality aspect

Ahh ok so prioritise quality best I found prioritise speed makes it quicker and less battery drain

Depends on what are photographing
If it's fast moving or something like that
Having a faster reaction time to tapping on the shutter button means you are not missing that shot potentially

I don't like the sound of adding these additional apps that are meant to improve.
I've only just got my S23U but find the shutter speed very fast on default settings.

Camera assistant was a separate in the first place but was later inbeded into the settings when Android 13 ui5 came about later.

It's normal to lose battery from anything you are doing on the phone. The camera is one of those that drain battery the most due to heavier load on the CPU and more processes taking place. Everything you do on your device will use battery right down to receiving a notification, it's just that some use more battery than others.
