Hi all just wanted to ssy all my phones have been samsung for the last 12 years and now i will move to a different make due to the fact Samsung want to push loyal customers to the cloud drive which does not work for all people.

Not sure why samsung want to move in the direction of Apple, the reason why people loved Samsung was the SD card slot and Headphones socket. Samsung has lost my loyalty now going to find a new phone with the features i really want.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH SAMSUNG.

It's a real shame that you now feel the need to seek out another manufacturer for the features / functions you want and need from a phone @Harry18  😔

Removing the two systems you mention has made way inside the phone for possibly different technologies now, but I do appreciate your viewpoint.

I use Bluetooth earphones and headphones, and some use a dongle adapter to be able to connect their own preffered headphones / earphones with a 3.5mm jack to the usb-c port.

In regards to storage I do use Samsung Cloud and I also use Dropbox.

I had a couple of sd cards unfortunately fail meaning I lost valuable information so I moved to online vaults a while ago.

I do appreciate people like to use these.

Unfortunately I'm not sure Samsung will return to having sd card slots in all of their phone's.

I wish you well with your next choice of phone. 👍

Take care.

Although SD cards are convenient, mixed phone media is saved to the cloud where its secure & much faster

@Harry18: While we have moved away from SD card support and the inclusion of a 3.5mm jack in our recent flagship models, these features can still be found in the mid range A Series devices, which offer great value for money while still maintaining the features you've come to expect from our mobiles. Why not check out the link below, to see if anything catches your eye.

Hi,

if the cloud would be really as good as sdcard, then Samsung would have to give me at least 512GB cloud storage, garantee me at least 100Mbit/s internet connction with unlimited data. And still, if I was somwhere with poor cellphone signal, I would have a problem. I think that cloud is far behind sdcard these days. And if there would not be sd card in near future S2x phone, I will switch to different manufacturer.

Your data allowance is dependant on the tariff you've chosen with your mobile network operator. It has nothing to do with Samsung.

Most Online Vaults are provided free up to a certain Gb storage point and then a person can purchase more space if needed.

The same as a person can buy a sd card at a certain storage point or pay more for a higher Gb storage capacity.

Usage needs change.

If a person outgrows the capacity on a sd card then they'd need to delete items or buy a bigger card and move the data across or own several cards and hot swap them.

The advantage of cloud storage is that if a person runs low on capacity then they can still delete items if they want, and or buy more storage and not have to then move information over.

It's all there in one place.

Information can be backed up as and when a good mobile data connection is available or a Wi-Fi connection is available.

I stopped using sd cards a while ago due to as a couple of branded sd cards corrupting and the consequential loss of my data.

Some Samsung phone's do still have sd card options however you must use what you feel ticks your wants and needs boxes.

I wish you all the best.  :smiling-face:
