Is this a bug fixes tyle of update going from the file size @Tourbillon De La Vie ?
Unfortunately I can't update my phone until its on a Wi-Fi connection.

I would hazard a guess and say it is mainly security fixes. Maybe some other fix or two thrown in.
Are you able to update using pc smart switch? Something is blocking the WiFi connection to Samsung servers when on mobile. Could be your router at home. Did you you try some other wifi connection public WiFi or friends house wifi
What actually happens when trying to update when on wifi?

It's the phone itself that's blocking software updates via a mobile data connection @Tourbillon De La Vie
Updating via Wi-Fi works seamlessly.
This is a subject that's been raised on a few existing threads which isn't something to do with the network i.e protecting a mobile data allowance.

Yes, I remember now the issue was mentioned in earlier months. I misread your post thinking wifi is not working when it actually is.
You are with O2? I remember thinking could be some misconfiguration on providers end. Did you try some other provider sim? Shouldn't be the firmware unless you got the phone with branded firmware

I have a Fold³ that updates ok on mobile data with an o2 sim in so I'm thinking it's the actual phone i.e Samsung Galaxy s²² Ultra @Tourbillon De La Vie

What happenes when you try to update on mobile data? Any error or any message? Are there other O2 users affected? Could you try some other provider sim just to rule out O2

Yes a pop up states the phone has to be on Wi-Fi.
It's not just on o2 as others in other regions also experience the same issue @Tourbillon De La Vie

This issue sadly has been going on for some years now
It is some kind of multi layered misconfiguration that affects some users but not other.
