Hi, so over the past few months I've been having troubles with my s22 ultra not being able to get any kind of signal, service or mobile data and it always says "emergency calls only, I received a replacement sim card today and still it doesn't work, I've tried both sim slots, made sure I've been inserting it correctly, and it works perfectly fine in my brothers a13s. I've looked online to see if others were having similar problems and found that it's common with s22 ultra phones to have problems with sim card reading and I'm wondering if I'm going to need to send it in and pay for repairs or if there's anything I can do that won't charge me extra. Also it seemed to work on and off in very specific places with my old sim but for the past 2 weeks or so I've had no such luck, no service, no signal and no mobile networks. My sim is being read because I've looked in the sim management settings and it tells me my phone number, the provider and which slot the cards in, but still I get nothing.

I have exactly the same issue since August 2024 update, the sim works fine on my s24 ultra, I was not experiencing this issue before August update
The more annoying this and most horrible experience I had was yesterday when I decided to call samsung support
To my surprise they said that they will charge me 100+ for this issue, I told them this is issue is caused by system update not any damage to the phone, they insisted to that charge for fixing my phone
This is so ridiculous

yeah ive seen online that its a priblem with the update and there is no way im pqying for a repair that theyve caused, even though i dont want to im probably going to switch over to iphone since i havent seen them have any problems like this, yet the samsung s22 and s23 lines have both been reported to have this problem and im assuming its going to happen with the s24 line in the future

It is horrible which means, at any time they need £££ they send a buggy update to our phones and expect us to pay for a repair that it is caused by them

Now that we have received the 6.1.1 update but that hasn't fixed the issue yet I'm so disappointed

Okay so I had exactly same issues as yours, it started around March 2024.

Purchased my phone in November 2022, in EU, we have 3 years of warranty. So I sent the phone to official Samsung repair centre and they discovered that the issue with GSM signals is genuine and they would need a part to fix it, a day after I received an email that Samsung doesn't have those parts anymore hence they provided me the full refund. Policy might be different if you purchased via carriers. But since I purchased directly from Samsung website, I got a full refund from November 2022. Purchased s24 Ultra.
