Good points by @Glenntech and @BandOfBrothers. Many you Tube reviewers there to make some sort of buzz and some will have their biases. You might find some interesting but at this point not really getting the full picture. A true review really needs to have extensive testing over a period of time and of course the AI takes a bit of time to kick in. If you are interested in the S22 Ultra need to male your own judgement and really test it yourself anyway or wait a little while when you will have more accurate information to hand but to an extent still need to go with your own instinct.
I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

People need to stop fanboying and look at the facts ! Stop pretending like Samsung is giving you these devices for free.
Forget everything for 2 minutes and look at the current state people ... What do we see ???
- When it comes to the camera it's good news all around, so we can conclude that it's solid eventhough you haven't used it yourself. Many different sources claim more or less the same. DONE ! Good job Samsung
- We also see batterylife issues. You can claim all you want and talk about nonsense ' learning procedures' (will elaborate on this) but FACTS are that we see a whole lot of results that SHOW that it's less than 1 year ago. I don't care how you spin it but nobody wants less performance than last year.
MAJOR FACT: NOBODY and i mean NOBODY is showing any Great batteryperformance. This is a major concern.
Also notice how ALL the big boys on YT seem to stay quite ... Nobody is raising the roof while they were eager to let the world know that the 990 was ***** 2 years ago. The S20ultra focus was trash, etc etc.
Even Mr whoistheBoss is not saying much. What did he say ?? battery stamina is worse than the S21U .. No indepth why this was possible. No in depth benchmarks, no All day usage through London battery test like we used to see ...
Everybody is staying shallow with unboxing nonsense (what is there to unbox these days ?) and the design has been shared a million times already.
The ONLY usefull content we have seen is about the camera.
Charging 45W hasn't been all that great either although it's not slower than last year so that's something.
Let's STOP talking about Hoaxes people. There is no such thing as learning your habits and increase batterylife.
So, if you use the the camera a lot then the system will downgrade the camera to save power ??? It will magicly transfer power from 1 core to the other ? I am sure it will know the moments when your idle (asleep maybe) and slow down transfer speeds and wifi and such but during the day this is not happening and it shows in all results so far. People seem to forget that during a 'honeymoon' with a new device you will use it more and you will use features that you would not use just to check them out. After about a week the honeymoon is over and you get back to your normal routines and use the device like you would normally do.
We will then sometimes use certain features never ever again as some are gimmicks or not usefull and that's fine. In the process you save power as you only use the things you need .
Also Don't believe for a second that firmware upgrades add a 500mah or something and suddenly the device will be using a LOT less .. Not going to happen. Tweaks can always be made but the differences are extremely minimal and will not net you 20% more batterylife and it looks like we need those numbers to talk about a noticable improvement over last year.
The Spen will not use that much neither, so don't try to spindoctor that. The capacitor inside it is minimal besides clever software would charge that pen while the phone is charged.
5000mah is 5000mah so stop defending the S22U for now housing the Spen and it's comparison to the S21U.
It can be compared to anything and certainly to the S21U as it's the same platform with just the spen included, period.
Many here talk about Apple yet they don't know why they are so efficient.
Apple MAKES their own software, Samsung doesn't make Android and are bound by rules and restrictions.
Apple makes their own SOC, Samsung buys the SD and again is bound by rules and restrictions, and even he Exynos 2200 isn't 100% invented by Samsung, they use ARM architecture.
All these things make it that Apple has far more grip on the hardware and can streamline the software while Samsung and all other Android companies have to work within certain parameters. This will result in the fact that Android devices will NEVER EVER be as efficient and will always need more battery for the same end result.
Look, i don't care about the Pro Max being a battery king, that's their bussiness and if you want that then go buy one. I DO have an issue when a brandnew device with claims like ' Playtime is now over' does worse than last years model ....... a 4nm soc with much hyped AMD gfx and it does worse than last years model.
Mind you, i have an Asus ROG2, Fold 2 and an Iphone 11 so i am not a fanboy by any means but i am not blind and i do NOT like the way the S22U is heading.
My last Note was the 8 which was fine apart from the trash speaker, and trash battery. I skipped all Samsung S series since and all Notes as they were not worth it to me. Seems like i am skipping again. I was really hoping to get back into the Ultra/Note series but i just can't deal with mediocre batterylife.
Without juice any phone is useless. no matter how many camera's and Spen's it has.

If you run a test on several devices and the S22U last much less than the S21U that runs the same test says enough.
Waiting 10 weeks will not magicly increase battery stamina.
Mind you that we have even seen such a test using brandnew devices, so also a brandnew S21U out of the wrapper so they will all have the same disadvantage of the battery not being charged and discharged a couple of times.
Still the S22U performed less than the S21U.
There simply is no way to spindoctor that, less is less and software updates NEVER added a magical difference like adding 20% which would completely change the game. Not gonna happen.
Also, the Big Youtubers never waited this long and were so silent. By now they had done their deep dives with dozens of full recharges by now.
Where are they ?
Phonearena did do some tests, even one using it in reallife and the results were not good.
As stated in my other reply, i have YET to see any positive battery results and performance hasn't been hyped either since the launch .... Very very weird and so much unlike any other release of the past few years.

It's simple ... Samsung overplayed their hand and focussed too much on AMD hype and didn't improve on the basics.
The camera section is better, and eventhough it doesn't set a new standard it's at least solid.
Performance ?? Nope, haven't seen a single piece of evidence, video or whatever that shows killing performance and we all know how Samsung likes to boast and make fun of other brands.
It's all quite ... Even among the Youtube influencers that all like to post every single abnormality.
I guess they spend a LOT of time getting the S-pn in there and worry about the extreme low latency (nobody ever thought it needed to be much lower than last year) that they simply forgot about the basics.
Battery stamina is the #1 thing an Ultra device should have, especially one that is aimed at Productivity !
Meanwhile everybody is talking about it's cool looks (seen that for months) and the Spen being inside but only a few people are addressing the elephant in the room.
I'm gonna say it, S22U is a fail !!! No firmware update will correct this, not in a 100 years. It's the N20Ultra all over. Nice device but being let down mainly by the batterystamina.
18-02-2022 12:03 PM
Nonsense ...
First of all, nobody cares about what the iphone does ... If you want that battery performance then get one.
Nobody ever expected the 22U to beat the Pro Max.
We DID however expect it to do better than last years 21U, let alone not be worse and in some cases much worse.
Don't spin it about battery loading cycles and such. We have seen the test from Arun where ALL devices were freshly bought and taken from their wrappers. They ALL had the same disadvantage when it came to charging cycles.
Yet the S22U performed LESS than the 21U.
Also, don't think that an Update will fix this because it won't. The tweaks will never add like 20% and that's what your looking at in order to make up and clearly beat the S21U in some cases.
These updates ONLY make a huge difference after an update that introduces a new bug that drains the battery. We have seen this time and time again and then the fix brings the device back to it's original stamina.
With your logic we would never have less battery stamina over time as the degradation of the battery would be offset by all the software updates over time. We all know it doesn't work that way.

Flossy's first impressions are wack ... They are entertaining but there is no in depth, never a solid benchmark or true comparison.
It's more about the feel, look and swagger of devices.
Any and i mean ANY device he unwraps he likes the look of it ! He likes the colour and it feels so good in the hand. It really starts to look all the same to be fair.
All thes big influencers are NOT gonna call Samsung out on weak performance or making the base of the S22U worse than last year.
MKBHD, Flossy, Unbox therapy, Super Saf, Mrwhosetheboss, etc etc.
They might put a critical note but they won't burn down basic features like performance or batterylife on the new Samsung.
They all have double agenda's and make too much money of it.

Learning patterns are myths ... So if your using the camera a LOT and that uses a lot of power hen what is the system going to do about it ? Will it make extra juice out of radio interference ?
Sure, it will figure out when people are usually more idle during the day (asleep ?) and then turn off or put certain things to idle but it will not create magic for people that use a device all day.
It's a myth, a hoax, made to give people hope.
Just like software updates won't make a device much more efficient all of a sudden. They can tweak things, make certain things less obvious but they can't fix what's not there.
Unless they have power 'leaking' due to some sort of service that keeps running in the background .. We have seen that before, the kind of bugs that were usually introduced after an update that had to be corrected.
Show me the updates that made the Note20Ultra a batteryking ...
Show me the updates that cured the trash Auto focus on the S20U ...
Yup, never fixed any of it and with the focus they made it less obvious but they never were able to create a proper auto focus for the S20U.

Flossy Carter in his ' Real Reviews ' has certainly not held back if he thinks the device is trash from what I've seen throughout the years.
He uses those buzz words as his followers / subscriber's know him from them and kind of expect it.
He's not too much into benchmarks which he explains in his videos.
Benchmarks are interesting but for me don't help to show how the phone performs in the real world with real consumers using it the way they do.
I have explained my personal thoughts on the matter in threads here on the forum in regards to the Samsung Galaxy s²² Ultra i'm interested in and I'm looking forward to having the phone in hand to make up my own mind.
It's great to read people's different viewpoints and feel passion and respect their opinions whether positive, neutral or negative.
Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.
The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "
