I got an S22 Ultra and due to the common lags and bugs (Twitter and others scrolling lag, non ideal video quality) I was trying to wipe the cache partition. However, I can't access the respective menu. All instructions suggest to turn the phone off (while have it on the charger), then press the "volume up" and "power" button at the same time for a couple of seconds and let go when the logo appears and then you can access that menu. That doesn't work for me. I've tried with and without plugging it into the chargerr; pressing down one button a couple of ms before the other one; letting go after a short while; keep pressing for longer....never succeeded, it always boots up normally and gives me the "enter PIN" screen.
Anybody else experiencing this? Any workarounds?

1) Phone to be in switched off condition (how you shutdown is immaterial)
2) Data cable to be connected from USB-C of phone to PC or Laptop
3) Press and hold volume up and power button (there should not be much delay between pressing volume up and power button, try pressing both at the same time as far as possible). Release after recovery menu comes.
If data cable is defective or any lapse in above it will boot OS. try again.
Checked repeatedly and worked on S22 Ultra with One UI 5.1 , Android 13

I have the same problem with a Samsung Galaxy A23 (don't laugh, my S20 is at the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico and it's all I could afford).
Anyway, instead of the usual boot menu, I get a teal screen with a lot of Korean characters and a little English that gives dire warnings about downloading a new OS. I am not trying to download a new OS, just wipe the cache partition. I have done this many times on many Samsung devices in the past. I plugged it in to a PC via USB, I also tried it without doing this. I tried the volume down key but that just booted me back into the OS.
The only way to get out of this download screen is to hold Volume-down and power to cancel the download.
Screenshot here (sorry, I took it with my laptop which has a cr*ppy camera; anyway, you can see that it's not the normal boot screen).
