S22 Ultra battery not fit for purpose, at what point do I contact Samsung?

Phone not fit for purpose, 4 hours max SoT doing normal everyday stuff, Google maps, calls, whatsapp calls etc, dies in 10 to 12 hour. Office between 7am to 12pm on 4g, 12pm to 6pm at home office on WiFi, and usually the battery is less than 20% from a full charge.

I've had it a month, everything should have settled in, i use a official Samsung charger and cable, all non needed apps in deep sleep etc, no stray apps taking up battery.

No smart switch used, set up fresh, updated to July security update, cache cleared etc

I use the phone for my business, I've now stopped making calls on it or texting as that would mean it was dead by 3pm - I've had to go back to a VoIP landline handset, like wtf.

Need WhatsApp business / browser, Reddit and maps to run my business..

Any reason you can't plug it in to a charger while at office or at home?

That's a good point, but does not remedy the days when I'm out off the house from 7am until the evening, or on holiday, or weekends away etc

I would also argue it's not fit for purpose if it cannot last a whole waking day from morning until bed.

Also want to point out that fair enough if I was taking pictures / 4k video, gaming etc then charging it up I would not be complainijg about it, but a hour of WhatsApp calls, Google maps, and 30 minutes updating Reddit posts only, then pretty much dead by 7pm is not acceptable at all by anyone's standard.

I hear you, but to be fair to Samsung (and other manufacturers), a high performance SOC, big screen, high refresh, and thin body means bad battery life. Especially Exynos.

Even a S21 FE struggles to make a full day with the SD888, 6.4" screen.

I use my phone a lot, and I'm now using an A53 5G. It's not fast, but usable, and I have 40% battery left at bed time where the S21FE 5G and S10 5G I had before would be dead by teatime.

Looking at your screenshot your signal looks OK too. If signal is weak thus can drain the battery.

How long have you owned the phone @CrazyCat1990  ?

Can you also run the diagnostic tool found in your Samsung Members App.

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

Hiya Mate, I've had it a month, and the diagnostic has passed with flying colours. Yeah the signal is always good, I'm on Vodafone, full bars pretty much everywhere and I get around 60mbs download speed and 5g is off

I've had other flagship androids, never had any issues with those, hauwei, and most recently oppo lasted 1.5 days, I get what you are saying, but how much power is needed for Google maps, sending messages/orders on WhatsApp business or even making phone calls?

What you are experiencing is pretty much whati got from a OnePlus 9 Pro and a Pixel 6 Pro. Both were uselessly dead by early evening, both returned within a week.

I miss the 2+ days I used to get from my Mate 20 Pro, that thing was a champ

Can you put the phone in Safe Mode  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-start-my-galaxy-device-in-safe-mode/ turns off downloaded apps and themes etc which may highlight an app or theme that's causing conflict.

I note the phone is from Vodafone so this may have network bloatware that's taxing the battery.

Thanks for the suggestion, will try it out tomorrow, bought the phone sim free from Samsung, I'm on a sik.only deal with Vodafone 🙂 all apps in deep sleep apart from WhatsApp, calls, messages, never used themes also.
