S22 Ultra Battery issue after Mar 2025 Update

Since the March 2025 update, which was pushed to my phone about 10 or so days ago, I have not been able to charge my phone quickly or reliably.

And the battery drains super fast. The battery drain from 100% to 20% in lead than 8 hrs while not even using the phone a lot.

The charging cable I was using previously and charged my phone in couple of hours from 20 % to 100, now says 8 hours to charge and that even if it ever does it

I tried wireless charger and it charged it in 4/5 hours. I changed three different cables to no effect. I turned if adaptive battery management and saw no effect. And the phone continues to die fast regardless of cable or wireless charging.

Hopefully it's a big and not how it feels like apple tactics to brick older phones to force me phone purchase.

Any solution or resolution is appreciated.

Hi! Welcome to the Samsung Members community!

Things aren't always as they seem. Go to Samsung Members > Support > Diagnostics—does it pass?

Try an official/new charger; trust me—I've had an incident recently regarding a third-party plug. Get an official 25W plug and cable—or even go to a retailer with a help desk (such as Currys) and ask if they can charge your phone to test it. Also, make sure the slot is free from debris

Hello 👋 @Zindani

I'm sorry to hear your experiencing these issues.

Sometimes if a phone is misbehaving after an software update it can be beneficial to try these troubleshooting steps.

1. First turn the phone Off and On i.e a Soft Reboot, but if that does not help then follow this by trying a forced reboot by holding down the volume down key and power button simultaneously for more than 7 seconds to restart it. When your phone resets, you will feel it vibrate.

2. Clear Cache Files from the phone's System Partition Section  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/ You may need to insert your earphones or hook upto a powered On Laptop or use a Tv's USB Port or a usb-c to usb-c phone to phone set up to access the Clear Partition Section. This may help with lag or stutters as this clears the phone of old/unused or broken cache files.There is also a Repair Apps option in the Menu System too { Possibly excluding the s²⁴ Series of phone's }

3. Last resort is a factory reset.

4. You can send feedback via the Samsung Members App.

May I suggest to perform a forum search as you may find already existing threads with help and advice within.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

Yeah tried all of that before posting it here. 😕

I will take it to the store and see if that helps.
