Software Update Causes Malfunction

I recently had to spend $1000 on a new phone because the system in my S22 began to malfunction after a couple of days of downloading the newest software update. It seems almost everything was backed up except for my pictures. When the phone turns on, it freezes, the battery drains, and the screen goes back. It won't turn on without a soft reboot, and I have tried to get the phone into recovery mode, to no avail. Sometimes, at an attempt to soft reboot, my S22 will begin to boot loop after a few moments, and when I try to enter recovery mode, nothing happens. I tried the "Volume Up + Power" hold for up to 30 seconds, and the recovery screen never appears, nor does the Samsung logo...

My phone has pictures of my grandparents (who are now deceased), my dog (who is now deceased), pictures from the day my niece was born, and work photos. I am not sure why my pictures did not back up, but I am extremely frustrated that I cannot retrieve them. What are my options?? I refuse to believe there is nothing I can do to get them back. I need those photos. It's literally the only thing I want from the phone.

No backup no recourse usually. You could ask Samsung or some other trusted tech shop how much it would cost if at all possible to retrieve

Hi.

Welcome to the UK forums.

1. You could try connecting your phone using Smartswitch on PC and see if able to back it up.

2. You didn't mention which backup you used.

Have you checked Google photos if any photos in there?

When you setup your new phone did you install from backup or started Fresh?

The beauty with Samsung is you have so many backup options

1. Using Smartswitch
2. Google One or Onedrive for cloud backup.
3. External backup via USB

Among other things.

So there's really no excuse of loosing backups or photos.
