So, looking for opinions and views from the community.
Currently have an S20 5G (12Gb RAM). Nothing wrong with it (touch wood as warranty is out), not a scratch on it, and battery life is still decent despite how much I hammer it.
Thanks to benefits portal i've the chance of an S22+ 256GB with Buds Live & 2 SmartTags thrown in for £680 after discounts direct from Samsung; which I dont think was too shabby, and I'd still have the S20 to sell privately - the trade in value offered was appalling.

So....views on the S22+ from anyone, or do I sit on my hands and hold out for the S23 in the hope of a return to expandable storage, improvements on battery life, and some decent deals being around at launch?

I still have the s10, as I don't think that there's any noticeable difference to newer models, apart from camera. Considering getting a new one, as battery life isn't great any more

Honestly the SD card is done. Its something that has been removed and its unfortunately not going to come back.
I can tell you that the S22 Ultra I have, has been a fantastic experience for me.
I've seen online that others are really enjoying the S22+
Like with anything there are others that are having problems with their phones.
Quite often, the setup of the phones or third party themes and apps cause problems.
But if you purchase through Samsung, you get a returns period that if the phone is not for you. You can return it for a refund.
So it's worth taking advantage of

If you experience any issues, then this community may have answers to any questions you have

Part of me wanting to upgrade is due to occupation (digital forensics), so handset tends to get hammered with testing, jumping on Beta releases of updates, and use of Dex platform.
I actually miss my S10+ - was a fantastic handset.

Thanks. My vain hope of the M.SD expansion return is purely for occupational reasons, but I know its been consigned to the past now. I've never had any real issue within any of the S series, and I agree that setup, config and 3rd party 'rouge add ons' play a big part. I've just been a bit cautious with the grumblings on here and online about battery life and processing issues, which is why I was asking for honest opinions from those who've got one and usage after the teething issues at launch have been ironed out.
For the price then I'm thinking I'll take the plunge.... just have to wait until the end of the month for it to arrive looking at the current delivery timescales.

Like I say, you have a returns period buying online, so if it's not for you, then return it.
Be aware that in the first week, with any android phone. It will go through a learning usage pattern cycle. Can take a few days or a week.
Battery life will be a little inconsistent during the time.
But hopefully your experience will be a good one
