S22 Keeps losing signal since last system update

Ever since the last update, my phone (basic S22) keeps losing 5G signal for roughly a minute and displays the "Emergency calls only". This happens with varying intervalls, but at worst I've observed it happening within just a few minutes. I have followed all the troubbleshooting steps found on earlier posts. I had this same issue last fall, also right after a system update, back then the problem resolved itself after a few weeks, but despite multiple people reporting the same issue, there was no solution or explanation. I would like to know if this is going to be a constant problem, should I expect connection issues after every system update? I have been considering upgrading to S25, but if this is going to keep happening, I think it's time for me to jump to another brand entirely.

I know you've tried

Clear phone cache partition:
1. Turn off the device. Connect it to the computer. Press and hold the Volume Up key, then press and
hold the Power key.
2. When the Android logo appears, release both keys. 3. Wait until the Android system recovery menu options appear.
4. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight "wipe cache partition".
5. Press the Power key to select.
6. Press the Volume down key to highlight "yes," then press the Power key to select.

Have you tried another SIM/ tried in a different phone? It could just be bad timing

I dont have this issue on the 23 ultra i would maybe try changing to a different sim card slot or a factory reset and check that your local 4/5g tower is not under maintenance

Appreciate the advice, but like I said, I have tried all the usual troubleshooting. (Restarting phone, resetting network settings, trying a different sim slot etc.) Also, the problem persists regardless of location, so it's not related to tower maintanance. The problem started right after the last One UI update (last week if I remember correctly).

Hello 👋 @Bo90

Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum.

When I had issues I did find moving the sim card to the secondary slot helped.

I also tested the sim in another phone.

A final option is to let a Samsung Service Centre have hands on.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

This seems to have worked! And while also looking it up to make sure this is safe (I have trust issues), I found out that clearing phone chache partition is actually recomended after a system update.

I have the same problem and it is very frustrating, the only way I get signal is through wifi calling and even with that the signal is bad and spotty
