S22 Battery Drain using GPS/Location

Experiencing loss of battery of 1-2% within minutes of a full charge.

Tried all the usual, like a reset, and optimizing the apps. Appears that on one app is causing the drain.

However, I noticed that if I turn off GPS/Location, the drain is less pronounced. However, having to turn on/off the GPS when not in use is neither practical or convenient.

Anyone have any tips? Tried updating to the latest OS already.

I usually lose 2-3% pretty quick. I believe everyone experiences this so i wouldn't worry too much about it.

Even my last 5-6% just rapidly declines.

Ps. Im sure the apps that use location, have permission that allows you to grant location whilst using that app. So you shouldn't need to keep switching it on/off.

Using GPS and Location will use more battery @LGSG

However in my location phone's settings I have Google Location Accuracy Off.

It seems evident from my personal usage of Samsung phone's that it's battery can and will drop pretty rapidly from 100% to around 80% and then stabilise.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

Thanks @BandOfBrothers. Will see if turning Google Location Accuracy Off will help conserve more battery.

It seems a common samsung thing since the S21 series.
The phone goes to 95% very quickly and same from 5% to 0

But overall shouldn't affect battery life.
It's best between 90% and 20% and normal usage should easily get you through the day.

Everything said above is correct. But, if you do have concerns still, I'd recommend making sure everything is completely up to date:

- Settings > Software Update > Update Now.

- Play Store > Initial top right > Manage apps and device > Update All.

- Galaxy Store > Menu (bottom right) > Updates > Update All.
