I'm on the edge here of sending the s22u back to samsung, too many niggling issues which may or may not be fixed with future software updates. Thinking of going for a device with a known chipset (8gen1 - Oppo find X5 pro)

Now, I'm hoping return should be simple enough but I got this device on finance, and also sent my note 9 in as part exchange. Also have the buds pro claim approved (awaiting dispatch) and have used the 12 months of Disney+ offer.

If I send it back, what happens regarding my note 9, the buds if they turn up and the disney subscription?

I'm assuming the finance agreement is just cancelled and my deposit payment returned?

Will lose out on about £100 of accessories but that can't be helped.

I wonder if it would be more beneficial to sell on the device and recoup costs that way?

I would have used Samsung live chat service to get answers but they are useless and the phoneline takes an age to get through.

The Oppo find X5 pro looks a great phone and comes with a 80w charger in the box and a case too and the top chip inside the new Snapdragon 🙂 been looking at that phone for sometime too .. but will not upgrade my S20 Ultra until 2023 but i was so tempted 🙂

It does look good but I can only find the 256gb models, I'd need the 512gb as a minium. (Got the 1TB s22u)

Bluetooth audio issues, fingerprint scanner with screen protector issues, loudspeaker poor quality, game incompatibility.. minor things but after spending £1500...

Not 100% yet as the rest of the phone is decent, great screen and cameras etc and I'm a user of the Spen

Hi @Madfish

It's sad hear you're wanting to return your S22 Ultra. To get the full refund, you'll have to return the Buds too, as they're a part of the promotion and refund can only be processed when returned.

As for the trade-in device, Samsung will endeavour to return your trade-in phone, but this cannot be guaranteed. In the event the old phone cannot be returned MTR will provide you with a cash equivalent price for the old phone based on the price currently payable for your old phone on the Samsung Recycle website (www.samsungrecycle.co.uk).

For more information on the returns and cancellations policy, please click on the following link: https://www.samsung.com/uk/shop-faq/returns-and-cancellations/

I suggest try to reset your phone first and see how you get on. If no charge process the return.

I've done fresh reset, clean install (no smart switch, didn't keep old apps etc)

Performance is fine (geekbench (1175/3603) and antutu 950000 etc) fingerprint issue is a general design flaw of most modern smartphones, audio delays and Bluetooth audio issues is a strange bug, game compatability isn't a fault of the phone as such just unsupported or unoptimised for the new chip. Loudspeaker performance is just bad hardware design I think.

Don't expect a phone to be perfect but with so much allready taken away from previous devices you kind of hope that what they leave behind works spot on...

It looks like there's a chance I'll lose my trade in device anyway so will probably just sell on the s22u privately if it comes to that.

Probably my last Samsung device though, especially with their customer service experience so far.
