My S22 ultra is dead. Firstly My device was starting freezing and restarting randomly like 2 to 3 times a day. Then suddenly one day it continuously restarting itslef again and again like 8 to 10 times and after that phone never switched on. I faced this issue after updating it to One Ui 7 and may security update in june 2025 before that i was using my device perfectly, there was no single issue regarding anything.
I visited the service center and after 2 days they told me that there is motherboard fault and battery fault on my device, and repairing cost is 44 k aprrox.
I just got frusted after listening it, i mean whose fult it was, Since this issue occured after updating it One UI 7 Samsung should take responsibility about this we payed lots of money and it was your falgship device., samsung cannot deny just saying that your device is out of warranty.
I want my device back to normal since it was not my fault otherwise i have to take action against samsung.

@Jity3112: I'm sorry to learn that you have experienced this issue with your Galaxy S22 Ultra following a recent update. Please note that we offer a repair only warranty which covers software and hardware defects for 24 months from the initial purchase date. If your phone is outside the manufacturers warranty period, then a charge would be applicable to cover the cost of any necessary repairs. I understand that this must have come as a disappointment, however we must stand by the engineer's decision in this instance.

It feels that Samsung is not taking quality seriously. It is hard to understand how an update can destroy a phone.
I had a similar experience with an A52s. Both the bluetooth and Wi-Fi were fried out of nowhere. It is very little help to have 7 years updates if the phones are failing so soon, especially considering flagships phones.
I understand that free repairs are within the warranty period. However, one is reading far too often of Samsung phones being fried after an update.
I was using a Note 3 for 10 years and the thing still works. We chose Samsung because there was an implicit quality guarantee. It does not help Samsung's image to have flagship phone having these sort of issues within the 2 o 3 years of being released.

Out of warranty doesn't mean that samsung push silly software update just for fun and make our money blew in front of our eyes,
If our device is effected by samsung software update then Samsung is responsible of each and everything and samsung should fix it.

I was thinking to do the same thing.
Exact same issue, non stop , safe mode seems to be ok, but again, after update, everything has gone crazy and freezing and restarting 30 times a day, i feel that this is done intentionally to the older phones, so we would be forced to buy newer models.
I think this should be escalated to Martin Lewis, and get more coverage, my phone has warranty expired in january time, but just over 2 years for a 1k phone is incredibly dissatisfying and it's ready for the bin basically

Hi @AndrewL,
I have been having the same issues that @Jity3112 has been having with my own Samsung S22 Ultra following the recent update of the One UI 7. After verifying that this update indeed was the issue, I contacted Samsung, where I was told to bring it to a Samsung Authorized Service Center where they re-flashed it for me, after which my phone was no better than before. It is to my understanding that this update has been since removed from updating on other phones until further notice. My main question is, as an Engineer myself with degrees in both Electrical and Computer Engineering, and many years of engineering experience, how is this "standing by the engineer's decision" when it sounds more like some messed up code, perhaps a data leak, and a new UI that was pushed out before it was ready?

@Smitbf45: The One UI 7 update has been rolled out to a wide range of compatible devices, reaching hundreds of thousands of customers, and we are unaware of any wider performance issues such as the one reported by the original poster. Our engineers must approach all inspections/repairs on a case by case basis, and if the issue has been deemed to be hardware related, and if the phone is outside the warranty period, then we must stand by their diagnosis.

@AndrewL : while it may be true that the One UI 7 had been released to "hundreds of thousands" of customers, there are threads throughout this forum describing hardware failures, and software failures of the S22 Ultra specifically.
My phone is still functional, however there are major software issues with the One UI 7 update, which the software does not get tested on.
I will put it to you this way, if I have 2 cars, a Prius and a Ferrari and I take 20 horse power away from both of them due to a mechanical issue, which will you feel more. This is the same concept when comparing the higher processing power of the S25 Ultra with the older S22 Ultra. The only difference being that, the phones trying to keep up with this issue produce a lot of heat which then causes issues to the surrounding components and the board around it. If these components and board are not designed to handle this heat then they break causing @Jity3112 's issue, and the service technician stating that a new mother board is needed.
