Hi, I was wondering what will happen to my trade-in device, since I already returned the new s22 Ultra.
Some say, that it's either return of the device or return of the cash in trade-in value.
The trade-in is worth £340 and it's been confirmed as received by them.
I can't help but wonder if i've been scammed by them. This is in the UK.

Samsung would endeavour to return your phone.

However if that isn't possible they'll reimburse you with funds as per their terms and conditions.

https://www.samsung.com/uk/trade-in/

"For smartphones and tablets : If you exercise your right to cancel and return the new phone during the 28-day cooling-off period, we will endeavour to return your trade-in phone, but this cannot be guaranteed. In the event the old phone cannot be returned MTR will provide you with a cash equivalent price for the old phone based on the price currently payable for your old phone on the Samsung Recycle website (www.samsungrecycle.co.uk). For smartwatches : Yes, as you long as you inform MTR Group Ltd. (0844 693 1663) within 7 days of sending out your trade-in watch. If you wait until after this period, your watch will be recycled and you will receive a refund instead. To find out the exact value of the refund, please contact MTR."

After speaking with them myself it's very unlikely you will get your device back...

I traded in a note 9 with a cracked screen and got £300 discount off the s22u.

When I asked what refund is get as they can't return the device they directed me to their recycling page and it worked out at a cash value of £30!!!

Well, I traded in a s9+ in a rather perfect condition apart from normal wear & tear on the black painted sides and bottom. Literally nothing else wrong with it. Hopefully they'll be reasonable.

Hi,

I'm having the same issues as you. My S22 ultra is ***** and doesn't work so wanted my old phone back. This is before my old phone was processed so as per the terms they should automatically arrange for my old device to be sent back. Conveniently they then "procesed" my old device and are going to offer me half a Mars bar and a dairy milk instead. Not happy at all with this customer service and I'm still without a working phone. I've cancelled my direct debit so hopefully should get them to do something. How have you managed go get on with yours?

I have called them and they asked me to send them an e-mail. Which I did, and it has been absolutely ignored. Going to call them again.

It should automatically cancel the trade-in when they receive the return.
I was even able to get my trade-in back after sending it, after lots of back and forth with Samsung customer service.
