REALLY disappointed so far - S22 Ultra 1TB

I have no idea what is going on, but it feels like I'm not even using a premium Samsung device. 

First, there is the screen issue which we all have experienced. 

Then, the phone just feels so slow! Even as I type, it struggles to keep up. 
I have a fast Samsung wireless charging stand which works perfectly with my Note 20 Ultra but instead of going up, the battery on my S22 Ultra was discharging. I have never had this happen before. I am now using the Samsung Superfast Charging battery pack to charge it. 

It is very slow overall, even as I swipe between apps, it lags. Even my old S7 feels smoother. 

Not to mention it took about 3 hours to copy the data from my other Samsung Note 20 Ultra. 

Slow Motion recording is choppy again - the very same issue I had on the Note 20 Ultra which was never sorted. 


What is going on?? 

Anyone else experiencing this?


I have already sent two error reports via Samsung Members app but the sensation overall is very disappointing, especially after all the hype.. 

Why is it so buggy? Will all these issues be sorted as a matter of urgency or do I need to send the phone back for a refund?

People have paid huge amounts for these devices. 

I am trying to remain calm and reasonable but what else will I discover by tomorrow or in the next few days?

I agree that the S22 Ultra currently feels slower than the S21 Ultra. I very much hope it's just shoddy initial firmware.

My s22 feels slower than my note20 ultra very laggy. No other issues so far

Yes it's not a protector that can be left on. You could not use phone with this on.

It is increasingly getting frustrating using the s22 ultra. It feels like a phone struggling to perform. Screen taps are slow to respond, I have to tap 2 or 3 times for the screen to respond. It all feels very sluggish. Sometimes I tap on a menu icon and just get a black screen until I restart the device. I am yet to send in my note 20 ultra trade-in and I am now feeling like I am better off keeping my old note20ultra and asking for a refund on the s22 ultra. It is so annoying. I now wish I didn't preorder the s22 ultra. 2 days in and the experience has been very negative

I am the exact same position. I now discovered that the battery has problems, took about 6 hours to charge from 5% to 85%.

I will get in touch with Samsung today and ask them to replace the unit. I am also yet to send them my Note 20 Ultra, I'm so glad I didn't rush.

Just want to update that my s22 is a lot better since the update yesterday. It feels smoother and less lag. I am now happy with the device and feel comfortable keeping it.

Hey, thank you for coming back here.

Funny, I was going to update this post by saying the same thing!

I think yesterday's update has made the phone a lot better, the only thing that still disappoints me is the battery life but maybe it is something that will be sorted out in time with future updates.

I will get my old Note 20 Ultra ready to be sent out today or tomorrow. I will sent it via Special Delivery so I can make sure it reaches them safely.

My experience so far has been that when Apps are updating or installing, the device became unresponsive during the install.
I received it yesterday, tried using the cable for Smart Switch, it failed multiple times with multiple cables from my S21 Ultra 512GB to my 1TB S22 Ultra, so I had to go for the wireless option. It took almost 6 hours to complete, but didn't do everything, I still had to manually change some settings.
The official Samsung Clear Cover scratched the top of the phone.

I updated with the new software and there were 80 app updates. The phone was unusable during the updates. There would be 3 to 4 second pauses for each update.

I have updated some apps using the Galaxy Store and the pauses seemed to be about a second each. I guess the lack of Seamless Updates isn't helping.

Having to reset my Watch 4 was another pain as the watch face I was using didn't restore.

Overall it has been a very very poor experience transitioning from the S21 Ultra. The S20 U to the S21 U was much more seamless.

Now the phone seems to be ok. I'm not pushing it too hard at the moment, but it's not over heating, I love the display, think I prefer the Note squarer edges to the S series, but that might change over time.

Will get used to having the S Pen again now (Haven't had one since the Note 8).

MASSIVE TRANSFER ISSUES FROM S10+ 512 TO S22ULTRA 1TB

I never had issues with the Smart Switch in the past -- but for some reason the transfer just kept failing at 99% of its review prior to transfer -- but did not have this issue when I choose wireless -- which has so far been going for 8 hours now and it is still 43%! Albeit I am moving 300gb of files, but this is the reason I got 1TB so that I could have the room.  ...and yes -- I did all the resetting, and cache clearing etc etc --- I do not want to have to return the phone so I really hope this is just a software thing that will be eventually resolved...
