I received my Galaxy S22 Ultra 512GB, Exynos version, over a week before official release date. As I was using the phone I discovered several bugs with my unit, screen blackouts, occasionaly freezes, conversations loosing sound, phon not reachable over GSM network even if my signals was good. I decided to wait until official release date to see if new software would be released. On the 25th Samsung released new firmware for my phone, and I did a complet factory reset after new firmware was installed. I am now on firmware S908BXXU1AVBF and fresh phone setup.

My screen problems seems to be gone, but GSM network issues are still there. Several times I have been made aware of that my phone can not be reached by callers, even if phone is showing signals. Solution, reboot. Turning on and off flightmode did not help. Also I am experiencing sound dropouts during calls, call is not droped but sound oth ways are lost, duration 10 - 15 seconds. Also when making a call the phone uses much longer time to set up the call than other phones I have had. Calling my self from other phones give simular results, setting up phone calles to my Galaxy S22 Ultra take much longer then calling others.

Have been in contact with Samsung support, but there is no help to get there. Try this, try that, over and over again. I am starting to loose my patients now, and its impossible for me to have a phone I dont know if I can be reached at, and when I manage to set up a call, sound is lost several times during the call.

I got my shipment label today to send this "phone" back to samsung.

I called Samsung to get news about the problems, and see if there is a potential solution.

Samsung did not reconized the problem. For them, everything is working as it should...

So I strongly suggest all of you to send this "phone" back to Samsung for refund.

Regarding the quality of their aftersale service, it's clear, don't expect a solution soon... As they are still ignoring the problems 2 weeks after the problem has been reported.

They always tell the same "nobody reported that kind of issue, it seems that it only happened to your device".

This will be last Samsung experience ^^ Never had that kind of issue with other brand.

I can confirm this. After yet another call to customers support today, it’s clear to me that Samsung doesn’t recognise the problem. I will return my phone to the shop where I bought it tomorrow. I guess the will say they have to send it for repair first, but what the heck, I haven’t paid big bucks for a phone I can not use to make and receive calls with. So, bye bye Samsung!

What about the user that said that Samsung Germany is aware of this issue? Surely if they are aware of this issue a software update should be pushed out in the coming weeks?

@thinkp4d Have you any update from Samsung Germany regarding a release window for the update they're working on?

I was also made to believe that last time I was in contact with Scandinavian support, but after my conversation today I come to the conclusion that some support workers are better at talking to customers, and they might say these things to calm us down. The one I talked to today said it’s impossible for him to know what Samsung are working with, and that he had never heard about this problem.

So as long as Samsung chose not to make a public statement and acknowledge this as a problem, I am not waiting around. I am not payed to do beta testing and fault searching for Samsung. If scaring customers away are Samsungs goal, then they are doing a great job.

Hi, same here S22 Ultra 512GB Euro. Calls break for tens of seconds at a time, phone unreacheable with good reception. What's up Samsung?

@Husramash I haven't learned anything new since then. I recognize I'm not so affected by this issue since I work from home so I dont commute as much, therefore staying on wifi most of the time. But I was able the instant signal boost when switched from 5g or 4g to 3g/2g so there's definitely an issue with how the modem/network manager is handling the gsm frequencies.
