Have had my Galaxy S22 Ultra (Exynos) since launch and it's really good coming from the Pixel 6 Pro but having three issues which I'm sure are linked:

> Battery drains very quickly. I'd unplug it at 100% and within 10 mins of idle I've already lost one percent of my battery. SOT maximum is 3 hours so am tied to a powerbank. This is pathetic and I'm needlessly using up charge cycles.
>Phone is hot on idle. I'd pull the phone out of my pocket where it hasn't been touched but it will hot to the touch
>Constant microlags and stutters whilst using the phone in e.g. the interface.

Anyone else having these issues? I already factory reset one day after having it as thought this to ve abnormal but it's still exactly the same.

I got the same issue with the battery drains too fast literally right in front of my eyes when I am looking at it.  The Samsung tech support person logged into my phone remotely and found out the Facebook Messenger was the culprit hogging my battery.  He put it to some restriction on the app and the battery life was a lot better.  However, it goes to about 2% down each hour if I do not  use the phone and only let the always on display alert when there are notifications.  So I guess it will stand by 2 days if I do not use the phone????? Really?  My 3 year old phone can do better than that....  I asked the tech if the battery can be a defective one and he told me to get an exchange as I only got the phone for 5 days.... It does not look like the battery is defective.  Maybe just the Android thing.  They still have not figured out how Apple IOS does that 🙂

One of the main issues with Samsung Galaxy S22/S22 Plus/S22 Ultra is its GOS (Game Optimization Service), which comes preinstalled, and initially, when the Galaxy S22 was released there was no way to disable it. During normal use, the chips overheat. As a result, battery life may be compromised. The fact that GOS throttles common apps,  those apps cause battery drain and overheating issues.

Thankfully, Samsung released updated firmware version S90xEXXU1AVC9, which now allows Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra users to disable the GOS.

So, Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra if you have an updated device with new firmware can disable GOS (Game Optimizing Service). This will not only cure the battery drain overheating problem on your Galaxy S22 phones, but it will also improve performance.

Steps To Disable GOS on Samsung Galaxy S22/S22 Plus/S22 Ultra:

  1. Open Game Launcher and then go to More.
  2. When more menu opens, tap and open Settings.
  3. Now search for Labs and open it.
  4. On the Game booster Labs page now you can see Alternate game performance management, just enable the toggle switch in front of it, and you are done.

Steps with images are available in the article below.

Enabling Alternate game performance management will resolve the overheating issue in your Galaxy S22 phones, and it will not throttle your device in any way. The procedure is simple, and it will considerably improve your Galaxy S22 performance too.

Thank you. It took me a while to find this on my phone, but I finally did and enabled that toggle switch. I'm supposed to get my new phone today. I wish I had known about this before we ordered another one. Due to the number of other people who are having the same problem, my husband canceled the order for the S22 and switched to the S22Plus, which is what he has. If I see a similar problem, at least I will know what to do. I will save the email I got with your reply just in case I do. Thanks again.

Can you uninstall the GAME LAUNCHER?  I did this and the battery still drains

I did all I could even reduce the cpu to run max at 75%. And I do not play any kind of phone games.  The thing that bugs me the most is that I don't even touch it and the battery drops 1-2% every hour....wth

It seems that the 5 G is a HUGE battery drain--but that coupled with this device's horrific battery is a nightmare.  I am unable to switch to another network--that option is not available on my phone. Apparently if you go to Samsung Band Selection from the Google Play store this is a workaround. I don't like to play around with any of this stuff unless I have a tech by my side who can verify.

I kept the S22u and did not trade in---yes I will be penalized, but I have to go with my gut feeling that says this phone will not last a year.  At least I can fall back on my NOTE 10 plus

If you are brave enough to download the band selection, please share your results

Hmm, I was at home and on the wifi... So the 5G taking Or draining battery might be an issue but I doubt it was my problem.  I don't know if I should return it and get the S22+.  I like the S pen...lol

The Stylus is key.  It really comes in handy.

I am going to go to Samsung and see what the techs there say about that app.  It is so ridiculous to have this "POWERFUL" phone and not be able to use to its potential.

Samsung is laughing all the way to the bank!
