S22 Ultra battery draining and phone overheating

It's 2024 and I've just bought a sealed and unused S22 ultra and from first use, the battery drains no matter what I do and the phone overheats from light use. I frequently clear cache, use minimum brightness, power saver, optimize phone and have minimum resolution. Device and info apps say battery is healthy and good. How can I fix this?

Has now had enough time to learn usage patterns, still draining and I've had a sudden large battery drop once now.

How long ago did you get this phone? And where did you get it from?

If new phone and within 2 weeks, it will need that time to learn your usage pattern

25th Dec, apparently directly from factory in Hong Kong, I suppose it hasn't had time for usage patterns but shouldn't it still not be overheating or battery draining?

Battery drain with be inconsistent until it learns your usage pattern. I don't remember it over heating when I had mine

You using it in the UK?

Could be because it's been sat in the box for the few years but more than likely it's to do with the recent update... 6.1ui had messed up my 22ultra.. freezing, restarting, battery drain and overheating

Yeah I was thinking that it could be it's been unused for a while but yeah I have also seen loads of negative reviews for the 6.1ui update, could be that too, thank you.

Be aware you have no warranty in the UK, for devices purchased overseas

Warranty will probably be in Hong Kong if a warranty even exists as its quite an old device

Phone needs 2 weeks to learn usage pattern

Overheating may be from powersaving as it slows your phone to preserve power

the code monkeys at samsung bricked my phone after the update.

It is now a beautiful paper weight 😞
