Galaxy S22 Ultra - Battery drains very quickly

Have had my Galaxy S22 Ultra (Exynos) since launch and it's really good coming from the Pixel 6 Pro but having three issues which I'm sure are linked:

> Battery drains very quickly. I'd unplug it at 100% and within 10 mins of idle I've already lost one percent of my battery. SOT maximum is 3 hours so am tied to a powerbank. This is pathetic and I'm needlessly using up charge cycles. 

>Phone is hot on idle. I'd pull the phone out of my pocket where it hasn't been touched but it will hot to the touch

>Constant microlags and stutters whilst using the phone in e.g. the interface. 

Anyone else having these issues? I already factory reset one day after having it as thought this to ve abnormal but it's still exactly the same.

@bl0kebr0ke   The S22 Ultra is like a 12 cylinder 1,000 horsepower car with a 1 gallon fuel tank. 

What's the point of having such a great screen without a battery to back it up!

And don't even get me started on the poor sound quality both with the internal speakers and the flat sounding Bluetooth.

if you gotta switch off so many features just to get decent battery life, then the claim of All Day Battery is just pure humbug!

why pay a million bucks for a Lambo to crawl along under 3kph just to buy carrots at the local grocery store?!

Any update on this? I m planning to buy an s22 ultra (exynos) but not sure anymore after hearing about the battery drain problem.

Hello Thejoker,

after some time passed using with full specs, my s22 ultra getting much more tidy on battery life. And now I use everyday with full usage which is gaming, social media, browsing, movie wathcing and using photograph and I can make it home at least 20 percent. If I use little, some days it lasts 1.5 day overnight. I have very detailed information also on usage of battery that I saved every day usage. For this matter I bought franco kernel manager. No problem. Also with battery saving mode, I saw 7 hours screen on time and 1 day 15 hours screen of time. totally 2 days with good usage. Now I am very profound with my phone.

@ommar83 15 hours screen on time?  Seriously?  I'm. Lucky if I can squeeze 3 hours screen on time!

Thanks for the update. Wow, that is very different than what I read so far. Is your mobile data and/or Wifi always on and  is the draining problem still there when you don't use the franco kernel manager or any 3rd party app? And does your s22 ultra have Snapdragon or exynos?

@The_Chemist 3 hours SoT sounds very poor and surprising to see such difference among users. Does your device have Snapdragon or exynos? And some say clearing the cache helps. Did you try that?

@ommar83   I live in the USA. I bought my phone directly from Samsung unlocked. 

My phone has the Snapdragon processor. 

If you read the posts in this thread here, most of us have very poor battery life. 

This is literally the worst Samsung phone I have ever owned. I really can't wait to get rid of it and get something else. 

I am using the S22 Ultra in the same way I have used past Samsung models. This phone just has extremely poor battery life, flat Bluetooth sound, a speaker phone that isn't loud enough and poor speaker quality. 

Samsung missed the boat on everything but the outstanding display. 

I'm so disappointed in the quality.

Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G SM-S908E/DS, this is my device's code name. When I get 2 days of use, I had closed everything. Below step by step, day by day my test preferences for this 2 days of use.

Sorry for not translating this one from Turkish to English. It is a bit long one. Yes at first I was really upset and regreted about buying such a phone. But after some time of use, It got better. Now I dont have any restriction preference. I even also had two different watch health program running and notification open until last 3 weeks and no problem occurred for me. If full charged in the morning, I could get to the night. 

3rd party application aside from franco kernel, I tried some but franco sufficed me. I tried some apps showing which process taking way much then others, and wakelock has come forward for wifi, bluetooth etc. For my experience, the most battery draining app is taking picture and altering the picture on gallery app. It takes very much battery. 

You can find usage details attached. I did not get yesterday usage but if I can take today, I tried and send it here for today usage. Now I guess everything is on for notifications and I dont know what could else be opened. Just now, games notifications are closed because they are annoying and also gmail notification is closed. Now I am happy with my phone. Ofcourse, I would rather like it last 2-3 days but now it is one day and enough I guess.
