Downloading Software Updates over Mobile Data is disabled on my phone. and I need to know how to enable it.

I have never had this issue before, but have seen others had it on previous devices, devices which I did NOT have this issue with.

Equally, I know 2 other people with S22 Ultras, that do NOT have this issue either! so why have Samsung disabled this for some users and not others.

I have an Unlimited 5G data SIM- It is actually BETTER and more reliable than my Wi-Fi so I'd rather use the Mobile data except 3 updates later, it STILL Doesn't allow me to update using Mobile Data.

Samsung need to answer for this because they shouldn't be allowed to dictate how we use our mobile data in the first place! and in any case, it is frustrating to say the least!!

Hi @Eltas Several  Members with the S22 series have found that downloading software updates restricted,  it may be to do with the software code. see further information on this thread .  https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/galaxy-s22-series/samsung-galaxy-s-ultra-gt-software-updates-not...

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

Unfortunately this doesn't work. And mobile data still isn't accepted.

@Eltas what is your network provider? I have the same issue and I'm with O2 in the UK. I've recently upgraded from a Note10+. I tried swapping my SIM back to the Note10+ and that device does allow OTA updates via mobile data. Seems like either a Samsung software issue or a network operator restriction on the S22 Ultra devices

I'm also on O2 but I haven't had this issue on my previous, S20 Ultra, also on O2. But people have had issues with the S20 Ultra downloading over data. It's most definitely a Samsung issue, as I bought mine direct from Samsung, not O2

I've got a s23 ultra and was able to do all software and security update by mobile data but now it's forcing wifi and I don't have access to wifi.  Unfortunately where I live in a rural area there is no option for home Internet.  I have to use my mobile hotspot for streaming service.   Samsung definitely needs to fix this nonsense ASAP considering galaxy s23 ultra cost me over 1600.00
