Topic > Software Updates will not commence over Mobile Network Data .
Phone > Samsung Galaxy s²² Ultra 256gb.
Region > Uk.
Source > Purchased directly from Samsung Uk.
Software Updates will only commence while connected to Wi-Fi as per a pop up when trying to update while not connected to Wi-Fi.
On my Fold³ also purchased directly from Samsung Uk updates will commence on Mobile Data using the same Sim card so this isn't a Sim card / Network / Account limitation in my opinion.
I have good data connection at 4G+.
Full signal bars.
30gb of available Mobile Data allowance.
Feedback sent via the Samsung Members App.
Question >
Is anyone else experiencing the same when updating or can you update over Network Data connection ?

I tend to update over wifi anyway, have not tested over Mobile Data lately. know some networks may not allow it but does not look like being the situation here. Wifi obviously recommended if you do not have a fairly large Data Allowance.
I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

Yes unfortunately it looks like a restriction via the Samsung Galaxy s²² Series of phone's @StretchCGB
Not sure if this affects everyone's s²² Series of phone's however.
I had a small software update come through yesterday at work and had to wait until I arrived back home from work to connect to my Home Broadband Wi-Fi to complete the update.

This is still the same situation for me too @lxxkindbudxxl
I feel it's not the Mobile Network / Tariff type that's limiting this process but instead it's the phone and software code in it.
As I've said before I use the same Network and tariff type in my Samsung Fold³ , and updates over Mobile Data complete fine on that model.
If enough people send feedback through their Samsung Members App under the GetHelp section maybe Samsung will look at this. 🤔

I also have this issue. And what's worse is that I have 2 relatives who also have the same model who CAN download via mobile data. One bought from Vodafone, the other bought from Samsung direct, like I did. And they can both download over mobile data! It's extremely frustrating.
I've also reported this several times via Memebers App and they're still not doing anything about lifting it.
I have Unlimited 5G data. Even without this tariff there should be no limitations about how we use OUR mobile data. Samsung don't pay for it. They shouldn't be stopping us using it.

That's strange issue. I'm in UK on EE network and no issues whatsoever updating on mobile data. In fact updated today.
I have WiFi on only when at home otherwise it is usually off
Not sure if that would make a difference

For us affected @Tourbillon De La Vie it does not matter whether Wi-Fi is set to come on in a trusted place or not.
The phone simply won't update over mobile data.
I'm also in the UK using an o2 Payg sim card that has ample mobile data.
The phone was purchased directly from Samsung UK.
This has to be the software that's not allowing the update through mobile data.
It's certainly a conundrum as to why some can update via mobile data and some can't. 🙄
