So I've just received my S22U and to say I'm disappointed is an understatement. Whilst the design is amazing, it is slow as F***. Coming from an S21U as part of the upgrade program, as I change my phone every year (why not eh!?), its a downgrade in terms of performance and issues. Whilst the S21U had its issues when I got it, it wasn't this bad.

The S22U is on par with the S20U which was a nightmare.

I accept some of these issues will likely be addressed in a software / firmware update, I do not accept that a phone should be in this poor state on release and samsung can do better. And if the S20U is anything to go by, some issues will likely never be resolved until the S23U is released.

Duly returned for a refund.

I've had no performance issues with my S22 Ultra so far. I'm playing games with my S22 Ultra and my Tab S8 Ultra. Gaming wise they feel similar in performance, there's really little to nothing to differentiate. I have to say system wise, it does feel slightly behind the S21 Ultra as well as the battery life, so not too impressed on that front.

I've got between 7 and 14 days to return it (depending when I get the return package for the old phone) so I'll make a decision then - hopefully a day one update will come out on Friday....

@BandOfBrothers seems you are impressed with your device,  whilst everyone is entitled to make their own decision  and problems can be frustrating, merits in monitoring over a continuous period before making final decision.

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

Early days @JAMES4578 but yes so far so good.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

Pretty much anyone in the it industry, and do correct me by all means if I'm wrong, will agree with me that how companies operate since a very long time is they release the product regardless of all the bugs and later on everything gets patched, updated etc, until eventually everything gets patched. They even rushed the shipments, obviously, so the public can get their phones 5 days before the official launch. I mean, I am disappointed and probably will never ever preorder anything from Samsung anymore, but this is just corporate practice in a nutshell anyway.

True, I work in the CCTV industry and I remember some years ago Samsung released a recorder and then during the life of that recorder it released around 18 firmware upgrades to fix bugs and add features... I'm not kiding +- 18 firmware upgrades in +- 3 years!
Basically it was released all buggy but by the end it was a stable machine. And this was around 11 years ago. Nowadays it happens even more...

It seems I'm not alone, fingers crossed for an update soon as I cannot use this phone as a daily driver, its extremely poor...

Well, day one update is out, and it's still laggy as f*. Even just typing this and it's lagging lol, so it seems it's got even worse.

I just switched from an S9.  I can't stand this S22.  Why do they have to mess with the apps.  The apps I used the most are all changed.  Performance doesn't seem to be much faster, camera is better, but that is about it.  Not happy.
