My S22+ was having some issues. It had been restarting randomly for the past few weeks. At one point, it just started rebooting randomly and frequently. I got it checked at the service centre. They said there was a loose power connector, fixed it, and everything started working fine. It worked flawlessly for two weeks until I got the OneUI 7 update. The phone downloaded the update and restarted as it does to install updates, the only difference being, it never turned back on again. I went to the service centre, and now they say it's a motherboard issue and has nothing to do with the update. This is so frustrating. How can this not be an update issue? It restarted to install the update. Absolutely disappointed with Samsung's service. Is 2 years all that they expect their phones to be used for? When I plug it in charger, I get the charging screen that is shown when completely drained phone is plugged in, (Something like this).
Is there any hope for the phone?

Only you know if it is better to spend money on replacement motherboard or replacement phone

It is absolutely due to the UI 7.0 update. It bricked my S22. It started immediately following the update -until then my phone was perfect. First the battery drain, then the bootloop, followed by the phone only operating when plugged into the charger and now I have a bloated battery and the back of my device is falling off.
Samsung refuses to acknowledge that it was their faulty software and any repairs would be at my cost. The phone is just over 2 years old. It has never been kept in a case, nor exposed to extreme heat or cold. Not a scratch on it. Now it is useless.
My question is - if I were to buy another Galaxy (not an S22) perhaps an S23 - will i be facing this problem once again? I loved all of my galaxy phones but I have lost any trust in Samsung as this seems to be a very widespread issue
