Is it normal for the selfie camera to have a black semi circle around it like mine does in the photo? My phone came like this from the factory.

Also I got a "camera application

failed" error message a few times earlier today whilst I was taking a photo. Anyone had the same issue?

I am having this issue as well. Appeared randomly just over a month ago and it feels like it's growing. I don't want a repair - it's a brand new phone. I want a replacement. Opening a factory sealed device will never end with a perfect seal. Samsung would like me to send in the device- what am i supposed to do for week while the device is out for "inspection"
How's Samsung going to get in touch with me to let me know the status of my device when they have my phone?

At least send a loaner.

Yes! I'm at least somewhat relieved that I'm not the only one with this issue. Thanks for speaking up Randeep.

I can't recall exactly when or for how long this has been happening, but I too have what looks like a duplicate camera cut out-sized black hole that is slightly above and to the right of the actual camera hole on the front of my phone.

I don't think it was there when I bought this phone (on May 7th, so a little under 2 months ago), but lately I had gotten so accustomed to seeing it there that I almost thought it was the way it was supposed to be, until I decided to do some digging on the internet and noticed this post.

It doesn't seem right that the only way to fix this is to take my phone into the repair shop.

Is that the only solution? Nothing else that has worked for anyone?

If taking my phone to repair shop is the only way, how much is that going to cost me if I didn't get the warranty?

Maybe the camera cutout is enabled under settings/display/full screen apps/camera cutout/camera app

They replaced my screen. Said it was caused by pressure so my fault. Now only.a month later it is coming back. First time they said they would replace it just once for free. Not sure why or how this is happening

I had the same issue... Was able to send my phone off to Samsung and they confirmed it was a touchpad failure and replaced the LCD touchscreen.. Just waiting on my phone to be sent back from Samsung

I assume you've taken care of the problem now. I had the same problem and was told by retawr that I had to take it to the Samsung store. It was still u der warranty and they fixed it.

Have exactly the same issue, probably for a while, but just noticed today. What is the current solution? Take it to a Samsung store? Sounds like a factory defect.
